    Iron Condors

I guess your expected profits would be much higher than 5-10% during profitable years. I am just wondering how much do you expect to make percentage-wise on average in a profitable year and what would be your expected loss percentage-wise during a losing year based on your strategy.

MTE, do you personally trade Iron Condors? Was it profitable last year for you?

The transaction is subject to approval by thinkorswim stockholders, regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/090108/20090108005671.html?.v=1

My understanding is that the transaction is subject to approval of the ToS customers. Why would the Tos customers want to approve this transaction? I don't think it's in their interests.

Not good if they are going to abolish ToS platform.

    Israel & Gaza strip

That's exactly my point. The land belongs to the state ( in this case state of Israel ) and it is totally legal under international law. The claim that the land belongs to one nation ( Arab nation in this case ) is invalid because if 2 nations have a claim on the same plot of land it would be...

    Israel & Gaza strip

There is no such thing as Arab land. This is illegal claim. The land is legally partitioned between the states not nations. For example West Bank used to be part of Jordan, Gaza was part of Egypt.

Quite the opposite. Palestinians can't be innocent and right because they are too single-minded almost obsessed. As an example Hamas violently ousted it's political opposition out of Gaza. One always has to be wary of single-minded and obsessed people no matter how rightful they seem to be...

    Israel & Gaza strip

Why would Israel have it's borders with Gaza opened if according to Hamas Israel has no right to exist? In the eyes of Hamas there is no Israel. Maybe it's ruling Hamas who commits genocide against it's own people in name of it's political and religious ambitions. Islamists declared war against...

    Israel & Gaza strip

I am asking you how Israel defending itself from rockets fired by Hamas ( islamists ) is different from the free world standing up to nazis and communists 60 years ago?

Why? Are the Jews expendable to the free world?

This historical fact proves exactly the point that the country can choose to stay out of the war until sooner or later it finds the war at it's doorsteps.

So why Americans were not sitting on the fence when Nazis and communists had been threatening the free world but they should not intervene now? Was it wrong to intervene back then?

When it becomes an issue it might be too late. Islamists are on the march. From Mumbai and Jerusalem to New York.

Stop doing what? Defending themselves against islamists?

    covered options

This is very unrealistic scenario. You can't lose so much with the short term covered calls. The option prices are pretty efficient.

Actually I believe the effective dividend yield of the stock decreases because of the call assignment risk.

Don't you agree that even if you are successful in doing that the profit margins are so negligible that you might be better off by keeping your money in CDs?

I believe that dividends are priced in in the cost of carry so whatever you collect in dividends you loose in the cost of carry. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.
