JGB Japanese 10 year bond/e mini - DOM

After JGB days, I switched to Nikkei225 Mini. Years ago I traded the large Nikkei, but the mini is so much more active, and offers a zillion trading opportunities each day.

JGB Japanese 10 year bond/e mini - DOM

After the gem was ruined, I did follow it for a while, then stopped. Looked at it yesterday for a week or so back after reading your post. If day trading it is your plan, I wish you luck. FYI IB raised the JGB margin rate to over SPAN x2 and stopped offering 50% intraday margin. The last time I...

JGB Japanese 10 year bond/e mini - DOM

I traded JGB futures for many many years. It was, IMO, one of the greatest contracts in the world to trade. It averaged 5 times the volatility of the Nikkei, was near perfection from a TA standpoint, and you could get up to 400:1 margin at IB. And then along came that #&@%'n Kuroda. End of an era.

Do you know why you make money in trading?

I often hear people say what you said, "...until it does not work anymore". If it stopped working it could not have been based on the basics of price movement, could it? So it was not really a high probability, sufficiently tested, sound edge that could be expected to last forever. I would guess...

No,no, don't pass Mr. Knows nothing about everything on to me. Even if he asked I wouldn't set him straight as he once called me 馬鹿。 Too bad his mommy never taught him any manners.

Does anyone know the name of that japanese trader that turned $800 into something like $180 million?

As you said, 'somebody's mistake'. That's how BNF (http://www.japanprobe.com/2008/05/20/takashi-kotegawa-bnf-super-day-trader/) made a bundle when an order was entered to sell 600,000 shares at 1 yen instead of 1 share at 600,000 yen. Can't remember at what price he bought many of those shares...

But if you trade in Japan, a small part of the 20% tax can be offset by 'zero' commission at Matsui.

    Day Trading Tokyo Stock Exchange

Just remembered that you can (could?) open an account from outside Japan at Nissan Century. Not cheap though. Also there's Boom in H.K. and Philip in Singapore. Also not cheap.

    Day Trading Tokyo Stock Exchange

So you would use your Japan address with a Japanese broker even though the fund is not in Japan? This is a list of the stocks you could day trade (short) with Matsui. Kabu.com has over 2000. http://www.matsui.co.jp/service/d_margin/d_margin_list.csv

    Day Trading Tokyo Stock Exchange

You said that you have to use a H.K. corporation. As I remember, in another thread you said you had an address in Japan, without which you couldn't open an account with a local broker. Sorry if I'm confusing you with someone else.

I can live with that. Without a title they think you're an unemployed bum or a spy!

    Business cards

Found it best not to include a phone number on the card. Half the people will call the next day and pester you for a hot tip with which they can make some fast 'n easy bucks. Don't you just hate that?

And what is he if he's not selling snake oil? In some countries a name card is really a necessity.

    Business cards

Once had a card with 'Speculator in Financial Derivatives'. Made for a good conversation piece with some. And as for those who felt belittled, they didn't ask.
