Emotions - How do you deal with it?

From my own experience and testing this seemingly sound approach usually degrades the performance of a system in most cases, sometimes severely.

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

I am not young (55 year old) and luck has nothing to do with trading I can assure you that. But thanks anyway.

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

At the very least a backtest will make sure you are not trading a losing system. And God knows there are plenty of them!

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

    Are you alright, Ammo?

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

Absolutely. But then again a trader can only experiment "sustained success" IF and only IF his/her strategy has a winning edge to begin with, and we are back to square one. I said it a million times and I will say it again: without a fully tested system the trader will spend the rest of his...

Seriously what's the deal with "spreading"?

Spreads offer low risk trading opportunities because you are not concerned about the movement of the financial instrument itself anymore. Here are some classic spreads and trading opportunities to consider... Long May Corn vs. Short July Corn. May vs. July Chicago Wheat. July vs...

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

That may be true to a certain extent but the fact remains that you STILL need a winning system to trade. Unless you prefer trading on hunches, whims, tips and gut feel (instead of solid empirical data), which is by far the easiest, fastest way to end up in the poor house.

So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

Good job, that short crude oil trade alone represents $3000 profit per contract! :) Did you use a mechanical trading system?

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

Nobody knows the future (except God), but you can certainly test a trading system and see if it has a real statistical edge or not.

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

    What is incorrect, Dr. Bouye?

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

The only way to eliminate emotion from trading is to trade with a fully backtested system with clearly defined trading rules, as this will give you total confidence. When you are absolutely confident you will make money in the long run, then after trading for a while you will start noticing...

So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

Sure, the webmaster knows your IP, unless you are using a proxy. And this is true for every website on the Net. But an IP is just an IP, not a proof of anything. But let's go back to the subject please.

I did make a lot of live calls on ET, check my stats. And I will post some more this week if you like, as soon as I get a Buy/Sell signal from my system.

So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

Let's say you are clearing $750.000 a year from your trading activities. Post just a single snapshot of your P/L on the internet and now it becomes super easy for some unscrupulous people to find your identity and use that information for, let's just say, very very selfish purposes... Are...

So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

For privacy reasons and in my opinion, it is not a good idea to post a snapshot of your trading account P/L on the internet (in exact dollars and cents), as it will immediately identify you (brokers or their employees could simply search for the exact P/L you posted and know your identity).

So who made the big bucks this week (ending May 2)?

Hi CrudeMan, I use a purely mechanical trading system that I developed after years and years of chart studying. And what I discovered after all these years of testing is this : the trader needs to wait for some kind of confirmation before pushing that BUY or SELL button. Believe or not...

I believe a deflationary depression will occur within 3 years; how to protect assets?

Every financial "crisis", including but not limited to the Great depression, has been deliberately created by the elite. The scheme is always the same : create a "problem" from scratch and then propose a "solution" to the sheeple, er... I mean the people.
