    OEX weekly options

FV and Stanford: Got a signal saying not to expect more than 1% (on SPY) downside. All short calls covered. I am considering selling a straddle at strike 12o ish on SPY. Not decided yet. Also got a long signal on EUR/USD (with EUR/USD at 1.3460) for day trade (see shortie's thread)...

    Kudos to MMs

Nitro: my models said a possible bounce in EUR/USD starting at 1.3460. So far it rose to 1.3480 (see shortie's thread). I think a bounce is around the corner. 117 in spy would be good to go long? I see the downside limited to around 117, less than 1% from where I last checked the market. What...

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

If you come across breaking news on Ireland or explanation of a rapid move in EUR/USD, post it here immediately. Update: EUR/USD now at 1.3480. These Irish do not have the fuel like down at the cap. They need to eat more beans to fuel their engines.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

EUR/USD visiting the bottom for the second time . Bottom is 1.3460. Let us see if we will have a lift off in Cap Canaveral, weather in Ireland permitting.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

I appreciate your comments, and sound explanations. I am however going to go long for the bounce, particularly if SPY can get to 117. I view it as a game. With regard to Ireland, once EUR/USD start rallying, Ireland will agree to a deal. A falling EUR/USD is good for them to do a better...

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

EUR/USD at 1.3460. I am going to buy here. Wish me well. My model says that I should at least get out at breakeven between now at midnight.

What do you think of this scenario: recent market retreat may lead to currency traders to think that a printer is heading to the xerox room, which may lead to weaker dollar reprice, and a rise in stocks?

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

I would say the exact opposite: the US dollar would retreat starting probably tomorrow/this evening to take into account QE2 because the market has retreated.

Who are the idiots buying bonds for 1% interest?

We need answers to the thread's question that was posed at the bond market top of August 2010. The question was: "who are the idiots buying bonds for 1% interest". There are those who answered the question, but the market says their answers are wrong.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

They explained today rise by better than expected retail sale, and some other BS, but now that the market is red, they are putting some other bull crap. I believe that now is the time I would buy, when it is red and everyone is heading to the exit. How are possible explanations they would...

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

What was your opinion yesterday? I bought EUR/USD at 1.3595. On twitter they are talking bearish talk, so with my models saying buy I am against the crowd.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

What are the reasons they are giving for the green market? As you know, I doubt that their reasons have something to do with the market.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

1.3660 area has been the bottom. EUR/USD higher by some 20 pips. Now EUR/USD at 1.3686. They cannot get me on this one---I am safe. The twitting guys were nailed on this one.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

I was on Twitter. EUR/USD at 1.3660 area, and tweets saying to short. The bucket shop twitters are talking about the selloff. I went LONG. Let us see who will be the bagholder on this one. Me or them.

    EUR/USD prediction

Do you remember the Fed day, QEII, the news, what people were saying. It was only 7 trading days ago, and 7 trading days ago from the top. Now do you remember what you were thinking back then? Could you summarize your thinking and forecasting at the time? Were you bearish the dollar? It would...

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

I would keep this in mind: markets are not influenced by economy, but the economy is influenced by markets. Crises and solutions come from markets. I would use markets to predict economy/crisis solutions, not the other way around.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

Risk/reward says go long, or do not play. SPY's friday bottom less than 1% from a support. I like you my friend, and I like all people on the thread of our dear friend shortie, so I wish you the best even if I lose money, on my short put. (only one put from a poor ETer )

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

I always admire courageous people who short/long after a move is already well underway. Good luck to you. I will be on the sideline. I sold some puts on Friday.

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

Markets have nothing to do with that crap. I posted on Shortie's thread since a week ago saying what the direction, and asking what the explanation would be. During the move they were talking QE2. Once they realize it does not make sense with dollar move, they bring a more suitable news. I...

Weekly Poll: Buy Dips or Sell Rallies During Expr Week?

We had the first move down, we need to bounce, then if there the bounce fails, the real move down.
