Why doesn't the fed adjust rates more often, but in smaller increments?

Actually, it doesn't really "wobble" these days... Only month/qtr/year ends matter, since it's sort of a dying mkt. Personally, I find the idea that there's so much drama and worry arnd 25bps of hikes absurd. However, I suppose there's something logical about the possibility that they could...

Karen the Supertrader - TastyTrade Hybrid Experiment

Yeah, you're right... It looks like there was a loss for the period of October 2014 to present. It's not clear what performance was between 2011 and 2014.

Karen the Supertrader - TastyTrade Hybrid Experiment

I was just responding to your suggestion that the fund could be profitable overall. Based on the complaint, it would appear that it wasn't. Yes, so there's that... Moreover, it's interesting that the investors who sought to redeem and exit HI would get paid out based solely on realized PNL...

Karen the Supertrader - TastyTrade Hybrid Experiment

According to the complaint, it would appear that, more recently, there was a $50mm loss which she tried to avoid, in addition to the regular gaming of the compensation scheme. Prior to that, the fund was more or less flat. Moreover, according to the SEC, Karen's actions were, in fact, counter...

France speeds up licensing for UK financial Service Providers in Brexit context

This is correct and there are a few other things which make Paris (and Frankfurt) a non-starter... The main thing, though, is even simpler than that. It's simply the English language.

    Deutsch Bank

I posted earlier on this thread... It's a combination of a) a business model which isn't suitable for the current regulatory environment (i.e. ultimately lack of revenue/ROE), and b) the size and uncertainty arnd the potential legal liabilities (the DoJ being the largest of the lot, but not the...

How, literally, do the non-retail entities trade?

The descriptions above are mostly accurate. However, keep in mind that methodologies and setups can vary a lot. Dedicated execution desks/traders occasionally make sense, but not always.

    why isn't CAD stronger

The Canadian economy hasn't been doing so hot recently. Specifically, the non-energy exports story just hasn't materialised.

Is there a symbol for "risk free rate"

For 30 DTE use the first, i.e. "nominal 1-month". For 60 DTE, interpolate between the 1-month and 3-month.

    Finance Is Ruining America

If you wanna read some interesting stuff about these types of effects, you can google the work of Geoffrey West at Santa Fe Institute on urban scaling laws. For instance, you can read about what the really interesting conclusions they have reached on London here...

why no volume on ZN/ZB march 2017?

Even if you do the simplistic version, you'd have to do an OTC fwd bond trade. Those don't really trade. Obviously, even that won't be perfect, since you need to do a basket of bonds.

Is there a symbol for "risk free rate"

FedFunds effective is an overnight rate... While it probably will make very little difference, you should use the other, term rates which correspond to the time to expiry of your option. All the rates given are annualised, so if you got the right numbers, you don't need to do anything more.

why no volume on ZN/ZB march 2017?

You can't realistically do this OTC....

why no volume on ZN/ZB march 2017?

The roll hasn't started trading yet properly. It's just too early. That said, there's a coupla lots here and there.

Ah, if only this were the case... I don't think 0.51% of DoucheBank was ever in history worth $7.5bn.
