Look for a ROCKET move up tomorrow

Why do you keep doing this? Don't you have more serious trading tasks to do? Is this a way to keep from getting serious. The only time read ET is when I got an optimization or large back test running. As soon as it is done, I go back to work.

Trade automation ideas using broker's API

The coding is not the issue. It is the semantics of the codes needs to be rich enough to represent the concepts required to identify and execute setups and orders. I.e. there is a huge middle ground between placing trades and the API. How one builds up they own libraries atop the API is where...

Another DOM Spoof thread. Old news...

You mean start regulating the order flow so the dark pools and internal matching would be subject to the NBBO requirements? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-05/why-sec-s-targeting-stock-payment-for-order-flow-quicktake Seems like such a SEC move could have a variety of outcomes...

Another DOM Spoof thread. Old news...

In case you don't already know about it and before you base your tactics on DOM be aware this has been happening for over 30 years now. Here is the latest. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-12/jpmorgan-gold-desk-cheated-market-with-spoofing-ex-trader-says?srnd=markets-vp...

Stop-loss order with automatically adjusted order quantity

:D But a Close-Position is a new order. It cancels existing exit orders. i.e. it is a replacement. So while not ideal the routine would be to use a trigger where the exiting order with the wrong quantity would execute and replace it with a "close position" order. Which points out why I do...

I have been making late morning/ midday trades

Yeah the real tough one is waiting ALL day, and not taking a trade!

Stop-loss order with automatically adjusted order quantity

Actually I think it does work, BUT, you have to use the "Close Position" function-call. I have done it (100x) though the hot keys when manually trading.

    How you like me now?

Sorry, no. Just as the market does not care about an individual's trade entry or exit point, nor do other serious people really care about your trades, let alone a single trade. They may say good job, like I am, but it is a bit like mowing the lawn. Not that big a deal. Sorry. It is more...

    Is trading easy?

With manual trading it is easy to remain discipline for a period of time. But hard to NEVER loose discipline. During the early phases, it always happens and you either give it all back or worse, until you get back your discipline. Rise-repeat. That is why a lot of people automate their...

    Today's FOMC - trading plays?

Does anyone know the 2022 schedule of the FOMC meeting minutes release? Is it always 3 weeks after the meeting, consistently? TIA

Can yall help me break down this chart movement?

It is a 1 minute chart. Don't read too much into it. You can only do so much in a minute trading or a minute chart. It is just a chart of more sellers than buyers, until the selling pressure eases. It looks clear, maybe cause and effect, and maybe because it looks clear cut, perhaps...

    Listening Music While trading ?

All sorts of music, videos, phone calls, texts, wife, dog, cat are going on here. But it all automated! Would never do it manual trading.

    Compensation from IB

The obvious: take the opposite position in another account. But it sounds like you think that is BS and you should be compensated. :banghead::banghead: Sounds like trading is a hobby and not a serious endeavor, besides the $$$, which you do take seriously. There is a lot more to...

    Trade a big account

WBTrader is correct. GIVE the money back with a 1% profit. Tell them they beat the retail bank and risk adjusted, you actually LOST money. Then direct them to a Barclays or Goldman Sach banking side for their deposit that can earn reasonable interest. Also Treasury direct for 10K on their...

    SPY (S&P500)

Couple of things: 1) Fibs are usually better when there is recent memory 2) Fibs that overlap with other SR are better. 3) Adjust to consider WHO is also using them and WHY. (big players, little players)? 4) For the bottom seeking, take your time. Calling the bottom is like calling the top...

Newbie - What is the best way to invest my savings?

Forex trading would be horrible. There is a serious lack of regulations. Second worse would be pink sheet (penny stocks) on stocks that do not file regulatory, audited, reports. I would use IB and do money conversions into Peso-USD because it is the cheapest way, and you can hold it there...

Trying to reduce number of Windows processes during trading hours

Windows should be re-installed, with a clean install at least once a year. A sad but true situation. I do a rebuild about every 9 months. Sounds like you have a general purpose machine and not a dedicated machine.

    Compensation from IB

 You broke the dry spell of about 4 months. Another person thinking that trading is somehow like Retail Purchasing. :banghead::banghead: This is trading. You did not read, like most people, all of the disclosures. But also you did not get the gist of what is says. THIS IS...
