    Biggest day ever

Best day ever was when Lehman went under. Best week and best month as well. Sure do miss those days of panic and fear. Worst loss was 40% of above (BAC). Regression to the mean decided not to regress :)

    Has anyone used TheOptionpro.com?

If they were that good, they'd be mortgaging the farm to trade their own account. Oops, their farm was foreclosed

    Options Commissions

With logic like that, it's tough to compete :D Over the years many here have posted that their spread orders on the SPX tend to be filled near the midpoint. Given that SPX option spreads are very wide, for an active trader, just placing a spread order with get you more than that...

    option and dividend

Do a web search on the index you seek. For example, "FTSE + COMPONENTS". Then use a finance site to look up the dividends (Yahoo Finance, CBS Marketwatch, broker's database, etc.). In some cases the site listing the index's components will have a one click link to the data for each...

    Taking Profits

There's no set in stone rule of thumb that guarantees anything. News (and price) can change at any moment. There's art, skill and luck involved in picking positions and exiting them. One thing for sure, get out of the way of earnings announcements unless you are intent on playing them via...

    Options Commissions

I don't know the mechanics of option exchange fees and what and when they are passed through to the broker. All I know is that IB provides a credit against them for trades executed and if I have more fills than cancels/modifies, I don't incur them. They list the algorithms at their web site...

    Options Commissions

I agree. If you NEED to execute because price is moving against you, you have to execute at market prices. But if you are working an order, better fills can add up to an awful lot over the course of a year. Obtaining a mere nickel on each side of a 10 contract spread once a week is 5 grand a...

    Options Commissions

IB allows bids at penny increments on options that trade at 5 ct increments on the exchanges. Also, spread orders are filled between the B/A without the quote going to that price (another party was doing the spread and your fill was part of it). I can't prove anything... I'm just suggesting...

Did you ever consider the possibility that in the time it took you to cancel (or adjust) the first order and create the second order that someone showed up at 13 cts?
