why not use IB's built in charting features ? ok its not what you really want but it is free :p

oops ... you know what ... gold is actually traded on more exchanges in the US ... ETF's are trading in equities that track the gold price pretty good heck they might even lead the gold futures price sometimes

then you must mean COMEX and CBOT just watch out for the "fast market" market only order nonsense in the pits when placing orders and the fat finger slippage nonsense on the screens which sometimes occurs oh ... they hang pretty tight ... as there are people out there who are...

actually gold is traded at quite a few different places ... in the middle east , europe , USA , Asia :)

anyone try scalping the new ETF ? I am curious how you found the spreads if size was ever offered and how hard it was to get an execution ( note ... it only started trading on friday ) ps ... I saw some clowns on ARCA (?) quoting pre open a price in the $13 range it...

hey thats it ... if each share = 10 OZ then it does make sense for it to price in the 130's with spot silver above $13 :p

well ... looks like the hedge funds if they are short this ETF are in the red ... and the retail spec are in the black today what I can't figure out is how it was priced ... why in the $130's and not $13's ? is this to try to keep the small fry away from this product?

there is renewed speculation that the ETF for silver will be trading soon hope this will reduce some of the volatility in silver prices as it has been making my head spin at times :p

why the rush to make a MIL $$$? put 90 % of the sum in risk free instruments that pay a high rate give 5 % to a money manager and 3 % to your wife and try trading with the other 2 % :p

gold and silver have recently been decent volume but the spreads have been a bit extreme at times so you would have to consider slippage from these spreads against the overnight range

hi edward ... I have been looking at long term gold and silver weekly charts going back to the early 70's .... its just amazing how sometimes these metals move up or down :cool:

sheesh ... now gold overnight is showing some of those huge spreads ... saw one for $1.50 in the last hour ...

I will admit this recent connectivity issue will be a blemish on their fine track record over the yrs if it continues I had to call HK 2 times to close out my position had some minor slippage on the first order but none on the second as they could only use market orders well...
