    INTC (Intel) has bottomed

I thought fully invested might have to do position size or percentage of portfolio. So when you are fully invested in a particular stock doesn't mean you own any, just that you think it won't go much lower. What do you consider a solid investment.

What does fully invested mean? What kind of time frame do you foresee to make it back to ATH?

    I Held That Long For - ?

Yup that's the stock that changed my investment stategy to a trading stategy. I originally bought Northern Telecom, a stodgy old telephone manufacturer that grew slowly and paid a dividend. It evolved into Nortel, ran way up then started to sell off. I listened to the talking heads and gurus who...

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

The point I'm trying to make is that you shouldn't borrow to buy depreciating assets. Car's vacations etc.

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

I'm not sure how it works in the US. Up here in the frozen north as long as you are attempting to make a profit the interest is deductible.

    I Held That Long For - ?

I had BYD on the TSE run from $7 to $200 from late 2010 to early 2020.

    Strong support? Major bottom?

Stocks are like perishible groceries. Just because the milk is on sale at 50% off doesn't mean it's a good deal.

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

No, niether has to return a profit. The vehicle certainly won't. The investment might, you never know. But if you borrow to invest you do get the write off.

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

I suppose you could do it that way. Your making assumptions that you will have a profit. Are you that good an investor. I'm just saying you shouldn't borrow to buy depreciating assets if you can help it. Sell your investments. Buy your car then borrow to invest. Take advantage of the tax write...

CANSLIM stocks based on score, if, how much do they outperform riskadjusted ?

Keep in mind that O'Neil also states that you have to buy the stock at the right time. Being on top of the list doesn't mean it's the right time. Use the list as a filter and time your buys when the stocks set up.

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

Not quite. The 30k you are paying for the car is money you are pissing away. Drive it off the lot and it has depreciated 10%. The longer you keep it the less it is worth. Borrow money to buy stuff that apprciates or at least has a chance to appreciate. You got a home without a mortgage and you...

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

Hey SML; Only one suggestion is to look at your borrowing. Borrow money to buy appreciating assets or at least borrow so that your interest is tax deductable. Years ago if I wanted a new car for $25K I would borrow 25K and invest the proceeds. When the loan was paid off I would buy a new...

How to become better at Technical Analysis?

I'm not saying that indicators don't help. They are a quick way of seeing what the price and volume are doing. Like I said visually pleasing. I use them myself. I trade mainly off the charts. I may look at what price is doing compared to what an indicator is doing. But I mainly keep an eye on...

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

Litttle things helped. Writing things down. For what ever reason you are more likely to do something if you wrote it down rather than kept it in your mind. Changing the focus from making or losing money to following my trading plan.

How to become better at Technical Analysis?

Indicators are on the chart because they make the data visually pleasing. Show me an indicator that doesn't need price to change before the indicator changes. You've been around long enough that you probably plotted your own indicators using the latest data from a ticker tape.

How to become better at Technical Analysis?

What is it you want to trade? You mentioned crypto when you started. Are you trading Crypto, forex, futures or equities? As far as indicators go, they indicate what price has done. Take any indicator you want and plot it yourself. You'll find that price moves the indicator not the other way...
