    I'd argue that the most important thing is having the discipline to follow the trading plan. Granted risk management is a very important part of the plan but if you ignore that part of the plan, as the Dr. in your example did, you might as well throw the plan out the window.

    You have X number of dollars in your trading account right now. I doesn't matter what you had yesterday or a year ago, what matters is what you'll have tomorrow. Look ahead not back.

    I guess you have to have a subscription. Their scanning tool can do all the above. They have a free 1 month trial that might be worth your while.

    I have exit defined before I enter the trade. If it hits the exit I'm out. Could be 10 minutes could be days or weeks.

    If you had one piece of advice for aspiring traders what would it be? In my case I slowly built my capital to where I have several years of living expenses put aside.

    Not me. I'm lazy. The less time I spend in front of a screen the better. If I wasn't beating the index I'd probably buy the ETFs and exit with a trend change. Good trading.

    How long ago and how is that working for you? I ask because I moved the other way. Mainly because I get about the same return on my capital and I have a lot less stress and a lot more time to enjoy life.
