    Unusual large spread

    Good point, definitely true.

Hah....Amazon buying wholefoods ....wow!!! What an awkward buyout...

Sure, probably true, but all that is pointing to if it makes sense from the buyers perspective. Just pointing out that it matters which side of the buyout you're on. From WF's perspective, if they've truly reached the pinnacle of their existence and someone offered them a 30% premium on that, it...

Hah....Amazon buying wholefoods ....wow!!! What an awkward buyout...

What a silly series comment. If, as you assert, they had cornered their niche then it means by definition they had reached their terminal growth and didn't have much to grow into. Someone comes along and offers you a 30% premium to buy a company that's already dominated it's niche you'd be a...

Do Rothschilds hunt newborns to prevent the second coming?

But what about chemtrails, surely they're the spawn of Satan?

    Unusual large spread

I know your strategy may depend on market orders, but if it doesn't the spread in SPX weeklies is largely an illusion. You can almost always get filled a nickle off the mid unless there is a retail limit order in there that makes it hard to see the true mid.

Kroger is handing Whole Foods its lunch

Hope no-one went long Krogers and short WF based on the thoughts at the beginning of this thread!

Kroger is handing Whole Foods its lunch

Antecdotally at least I'd have to disagree with Whole Foods employees being significantly less happy with their job than Krogers. They certainly seem to be a significant step above them in competency and quality.

    GyroDrive - I want one

Auto-gyro's have been around since the early 1920's, they predate helicopters. That's a long "experimental phase"! Having spent many years in charge of maintaining fleets of helicopters, I can tell you the the primary disadvantage of anything with a rotating wing is the maintenance overhead and...

    Life in Venezuela

Now don't go trying to use logic and facts on this guy, he's going to revert to all 6th grade mode and start spewing gibberish at you. I really do wonder how the guy manages to make it in the real world.

IB Fedwire not received on same day

Did you "initiate" a wire in IB as well? You have to tell them all the details of an inbound wire so they can match it. If you don't they'll usually let you know they have a wire they think is yours and prompt you to do the inbound wire form, but it might take a couple days. IB has lots of huge...

academia research papers on stock trading

There is definitely some interesting stuff to be found. Generally most of it can and will be arb'd away as soon as anyone big catches on, so the trick is to pick it up as soon as it comes out and ride it as long as you can. Even better use their work to brainstorm your own ideas, people a lot...

Interactive Brokers True Cost of Shorting

The amount you'll get paid if you lend is most definitely not correct. IB keeps half the amount, plus there's no way to really ensure your stock is lent now that they shut down the marketplace where you could lend.

Science says time travel is possible

Turns out the guy is wearing a letter sweater and the sunglasses where a model sold at that time. He was just accidentally a hipster 60 years early.

    Life in Venezuela

Once again you've got this caricature of what others believe and don't bother to learn or listen when they tell you what they actually believe. Socialists believe we should socialize the costs of services like healthcare and education. They believe that in the long run this is actually better...

Happy to be corrected on specifics. "You don't know what you're talking about" is a pretty information free response.
