Neither side is willing to commit; I have looked at a long here at 14 now for teh last few minutes but really just a guessing game to be honest right now. 5 point range in opening hour will probably mean a nice explosive movement sometime later, at least it's what I'm hoping. But neither side...

good scalps gmst but be careful, this is extremely low relative volume, only 200K in opening 45 minutes, breeding ground for indecisive movement and drains accounts like crazy.

1209 was not remotely the mode from Wednesday, 1205.50 - 1206 had that covered quite well. You need to get accurate profiles... This is the ETH profile but changing to RTH has no affect on the mode, though the value area high changes a bit. http://screencast.com/t/sbT2HLu40aS9

A pivot is a point about which something turns. When traders talk about the "daily pivot" for example, this is calculated as a potential pivotal area. But that's not what you're referring to. First, at the time you mention here, there is no significant volume. So let's get a common point...

No worries mate--that's why I mentioned it earlier today. Basically, below 16 there was nothing but air until 13, and even then still not really strong support. When you took your long, the location was not terrible, as there was good volume entering the market and buyers showed up...

Boy do I ever hate these trades where I almost know I'm gonna get stopped out, but I hate to close with only a 3 tick stop if it does happen to go in my favor. Tough situation.

Triple is old term, Quad is new term, same thing, on the HMUZ months on opex day. Double is all other opex days (8 of them) in the year.

flipflopper and satchel, can you explain why it's going to go straight up? I am not familiar yet with the behavior surrounding options expiration, and is this different because it's a triple witching instead of double today?

Just what I needed to know, thanks flipflopper. This was not a planned announcement was it? Still no mention of this on marketwatch ... those guys are now putting an ad banner up in front of their news headlines at the top.. just what they need, even slower access to news.
