Makes sense ... A question with regard to your 94 short -- was your premise not invalidated when the market went beyond your entry 4 points? What about that made you say "okay, I will stick with this?"

finally out for a -3.25 ... probably just bought the top, but pain too high at this point.

Even if this trade is successful (unlikely), this is exactly why I do not like to use 3 point stops when the trade should have worked with a 1.5 or so point stop. I'm easily suckered in to short these crawls up and will probably wind up paying for it.

Damn these sellers, they took me out earlier, and now the buyers are... I'm not in sync with the market today.

I REALLY (really) want to understand options and their role in the market more. Is there any kind of written reference (probably not) that will help me get into the kind of things you're talking about? Like, the whole expirations cycle and options process...? Including what motivates option...

Sorry, did not see volente's comments. But isn't opex next week? Are you saying this is in preparation for next week then? So, your premise is that it moves up to get longs to move stops up, then slams it down hard to take them all out, and now will build a base and move up higher yet again?

base of support at 82.50, one tick to last week's high 82.25, and then a little bounce. But no follow through, hence I got out for a 2 tick loss instead of full.
