So, what does a good trader make per month?

A good trader is first of all a businessman. If you can make more money doing something else, trading is a waste of time. PS. I can see life-style advantages to being an independent trader, but that only comes into play if you are semi-retiring. Just an IMHO.

So, what does a good trader make per month?

True and not. To make a proper economic argument, you should subtract a expected salary that the enterpreneur can command via regular employment. For a street-vendor or a BK franchise owner, I'd imagine, salary expectations via regular employment are not too high.

Burger King as a company does not do anything even close to these RoCs. However, a single franchise owner who is managing the place himself, can easily do that or better. There was a study that NYC street hot dog vendors achieve 100%+ returns on investment. The problem is lack of scalability...

I don't know if you are delta-hedging, but the general problem with that reasoning is that path dependency can and probably will lose you money on the whole trade - i.e. ATM straddle will be worth 6%, but it's going to be a different strike. Meanwhile you going to lock-in low vol through the...

So, what does a good trader make per month?

Bah, 7 figures (e.g. $1.5 * 10^6) is a take-home for a decent derivatives trader at a bank or an ok-ish PM at a large fund. 50 million in assets is actually a very small fund these days Plenty of small businesses do way better RoC-wise, because of the constrained capacity. Your local Burger...

Using portfolio margin calculator for your retail broker, could you check the margin requirement for these three options? (a) if you were to sell 100 (1 lot) of SPY Dec31 175 p (b) if you were to sell 100 (1 lot) of SPY Jan 175p (c) if you were to sell 100 (1 lot) of SPY Jan 165p I will owe...

IB: No Options available for TYX?

Oh, those things. Zero volume. Literally. Yet another still-born product from CBOE, just like many other (e.g. "credit options").

IB: No Options available for TYX?

CBOE does not have interest rate options, CBOT and CME do and I am pretty sure IB carries them.
