    Intel's future

From Reuter's: Intel Corp. (INTC) shares have eased 3 percent since the chipmaker's lackluster outlook on April 19 for second quarter growth. Given analyst projections for profits growth, though, the shares still look too pricey, an analysis based on a capital asset pricing model shows - even...

Superior trader, a born talent or can be taught?

I've got a cadre of Undergrad music majors next door who play incessantly night and day POORLY. Nice guys but frankly their music sucks. I don't mean I don't like it I mean they can't play for shit. These are people who are taught, practice, and study music full-time at a "good school."...

As is plain to see the market will need to prove it can make and sustain new highs. Thus far it has failed. Tommorrow will see if we get an inside day or follow-through to the downside. Thing is May is the beginning of crappy "seasonality." So given all the negatives (inflation, interest...

    The Coming Oil Crisis

The debate is great as it truly shows how a market is made with such varying opinions between strongly bullish to strongly bearish. Hey Cheese in "Thank You for Not Smoking" Mr. Nail Her says cheese is the #1 killer in America. You savage you.

    Intel's future

Yeah, yeah, yeah... AMD did/is kicking Intel's behind but Intel still rules the roost. They needed a good whipping to cut the fat and get in gear with design. But that's also why I would think it may take a bit before INTC rallies again. So I think when the street really feels INTC is down...

From Bill Cara: "I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a little tired of the intervention in this market by the U.S. Administration and Fed. These people talk about a free market system, so where is it?" "When Earnings Season comes to a close in a few days, I think traders are going...

    Intel's future

I think with the amount of goods in the pipeline (legacy stuff) which is basically worth less than they have it accounted for that even with a good showing 4th quarter and next year its going to take awhile for the wintel windows vista conroe to gain momentum and as mentioned by others the...

That's great!!! I used to a have neutral bias and then screened stocks and shorted the chaff and went long the wheat but it is alot of work. With this market environment of primarily sideways action a diversified long-short strategy with options, cash, and maybe some covered calls would be a...

    Intel's future

Intel should be a good long-term play BUT it may take awhile to turn around and S & P issued a downgrade yesterday. Wait for the downtrend to break then buy the first dip of the uptrend. At least that is what I will do.

Sheesh. Continued unbridled enthusiasm. All my long-term shorts pretty much blown out this week. 4/18 was ridiculous. Oil @ $75. Inflation even the gov. is admitting . Keep those presses rolling boys. Let's create liquidity and roll from one bubble to the next. Speculation I...

Why oh why can't I stick to my plan ?

Hardest part of trading IMHO. Biggest reason people lose (Steenbarger talks of this in his trading psychology book) In fact some people probably don't have the right personality for trading--can't follow rules. Blah, blah, blah.

OOOps, Maybe not. “The conventional wisdom that the end of Fed tightening is immediately bullish for stocks is simply not supported by history. In looking at the last rate hikes in all 16 instances going back to 1920, we found that the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by an average...
