    put - no volume

I'd re-emphasize to the OP that if you gave us the ticker and the option you're holding it will only help things, there's nothing gained by keeping it a big secret. Seriously, if you let everyone know what option exactly you're talking about at least one of us will go put something on the tape...

    put - no volume

So clearly that data source is in error, no?

    put - no volume

Well if you own a put, the open interest can't be zero!

    Texan grid

And yet the sad thing is that once the @Mercors of the world heard it once on Fox it's gospel to them forever and they literally close their mind to even a single fact that would disconfirm what they now believe. I mean just look at this thread, the guy ignored post after post factually showing...

    Texan grid

Actually your assertion is just completely and utterly wrong, as was pointed out numerous times in this thread. Most of the issues in Texas came from the fossil fuel generating system which has not proven to be, as you claim, "robust" when it comes to cold, at least in Texas. This isn't me...

    put - no volume

Tell everyone here the ticker and put your order in under intrinsic and there will be plenty of folks here willing to go lift that if no-one else in the market does first.

Brexit Is Almost Here... We are at the Finish Line!

I know our resident Brexit fanboy @Visaria disappeared after pretty much everything he predicted turned out to be a failure, but in case he's sticking around under a different nickname, perhaps he'll find this article interesting CBOE: post-Brexit financial services deal unlikely to bring...

Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

At the end of the day they're not much different, but like you I just have an intellectual hang-up with treating upside risk the same as downside.

Student loan borrowers refusing to pay. You signed the contract now pay what you owe!!!!!

Well you could say "seed corn" is an educated workforce. Or you could say "seed corn" is ensuring that those of us who make over $518,000 a year only have to pay a 37% instead of 39.6% marginal tax rate. The change Biden is proposing that is the basis for this thread would cost the country less...

Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

You would probably like the Sortino ratio rather than the Sharpe ratio. It is very similar but differentiates between upside and downside risk.

Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

It's not that there are other ways to measure risk, it's that the OP rejects any measurement of risk. That's being amateur and suboptimal for no better reason I can discern than willful ignorance. While the OP is obviously immune to the concept, there are any number of other people following...

Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

Not grasping the importance of the concept of risk adjusted return is pretty fundamental to anyone who trades. I'd submit if one considers that "not that big of an issue" it could be worth re-examining one's concept of what big issues are?

Selling Premium - Strategy Never Discussed

As he's told us before, he'd like to use no measure of risk because he prefers to keep his head in the sand when it comes to that concept.

How can a pre-merger SPAC trade over $20?

I would tend to agree with you, might do a little of that myself. Another thing to think about is that this play is an indirect bet on VIX, as deal flow usually dries up when there is a lot of market volatility. So maybe you could even short some VIX and take advantage of the decaying term...

How can a pre-merger SPAC trade over $20?

Sounds like you're already taking this to heart, but don't forget the old advice that the market can remain irrational far longer than you and I can remain solvent!

Using an LLC to protect oneself from a margin call?

It's a little bigger picture/higher level than that. The situation would be that your LLC was indebted to the broker and tried to avoid paying that debt by declaring bankruptcy, i.e. they had a margin call and even after the broker liquidated all the securities in the account it had a negative...

Student loan borrowers refusing to pay. You signed the contract now pay what you owe!!!!!

They lose their principal and interest when the student doesn't pay. The federal government stopped guaranteeing loans in 2010. If a bank is loaning a student money now, they're on the hook when the money isn't paid back. Moral hazard would be the situation they would be in if the government was...

USVI - St John & St Thomas

No, I lived in HI which was bad enough. I have spent several weeks in both PR and USVI and based on my previous HI experience I could tell they weren't for me. That said, there are definitely people who love it. You just have to really really be a live and let live guy so when people graffiti...

Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier.

Vixy reaching new lows, time to buy?

You can't trade VIX spot. You can directly trade VIX futures and FOPs though. The VIX ETFs consist of the nearest two months of VIX futures, they just roll out of the near to the far every day to maintain an equal duration exposure.
