Equity Day Traders please post your firm only.

Not according to their FAQ's: Is Avatar Securities an independent firm? Yes. Avatar is completely independent and maintains relationships with multiple software providers. http://avatarsecurities.com/faqs/

Equity Day Traders please post your firm only.

Sure, no problem. And yes, Hold is still around, although as I recall they moved the main office from NY to NJ. They self-clear their trades, and have their own free software so your fixed costs are reduced, unless you want to link it with Esignal, which of course is a paid monthly service.

Equity Day Traders please post your firm only.

WTS/T3 and Bright are not the only firms that offer leverage in equities. Try Chimera, they don't rely on "education seminars" for revenue, and neither does Hold Bros. You can also look into Avatar Securities out of NY. If they want your business, they will call you back...

    WTS alliance with T3 Trading

Yes, very good point. Also, with T3 according to their last SEC focus report, has THREE classes of members, "A" "B" and "C". The Class A members are the owners. Class B are those who run a coordinated trading group, and Class C are individual prop traders. Those who join T3 can either join a...

What are the chances an ETF will go Madoff on you?

In what way? Are you implying that the NAV would somehow be totally out of whack with the underlying securities in the ETF?

What are the chances an ETF will go Madoff on you?

There are two parts to your comment. Wisdom Tree is an asset manager of a broadly diversified range of ETFs. I didn't realize until I saw your post and went online to check them out that they are actually publicly traded on the Nasdaq, ticker symbol WETF. So there are two risks: one that the...

    WTS alliance with T3 Trading

I thought JC was a sub group of WTS? If so, then their group will soon trade through T3, so it's probably not a big issue, since you'd end up trading with the same group. The only change is the broker, from WTS to T3.

    WTS alliance with T3 Trading

Not sure, however both firms list the PHLX on their sites, so it's probably something they had to just deal with to move forward. I doubt there were any structural changes required, other than paperwork, and definitely a bunch of regulatory fees!

    WTS alliance with T3 Trading

That's interesting. It seems they have definitely grown, as their Member's Equity, according to SEC filings, went from just over a million at the end of 2010 to almost 15 million at the end of 2013, with over 40 million in total assets. My guess is after the WTSprop acquisition, their...

Any Day Trading Firms using DAS TRADER? Thoughts?

Well, it's been awhile, however when I first traded for a registered prop I used Das Trader and it was fine. I was using hot keys for execution and routing orders mostly through EDGX and the fills were instant. It seemed like a very user friendly platform, especially for charts and setting up...

    Identifying Pump & Dump Schemes.

Sometimes if the stock is hard to borrow, then the broker may charge you a small fee (pennies per share), even if you close out the position in the same day.

Can you join a prop firm if you are not a us citizen?

I traded prop for awhile and now I'm back to retail, as I can hold overnight and play options, so more flexibility. However, I have some buddies still in the prop game and they mentioned the transition. It seems kosher as you said. I actually was not aware about the CBSX no longer being an...

    WTS alliance with T3 Trading

Ya, just more consolidation in the prop world, the traders at WTSprop will trade with T3, but maintain their same rates/commissions from what I was told by a current trader at WTS. For new traders, they'll have to sign all paperwork and negotiate their rates with T3 directly after November 3rd...

Can you join a prop firm if you are not a us citizen?

Correction: CBSX registered prop firms are now members of the PHLX as their SRO (Self Regulatory Organization). Apparently, this change was effective in August 2014.

Can you join a prop firm if you are not a us citizen?

Firms that are U.S. based and registered with CBSX require you have a Series 56 license and be a U.S. citizen. Access to firm capital is usually 20x your capital contribution, with a one year lock up on funds, as per SEC net capital rules. If you are from the U.K., then the "workaround" is to...

Where do I get holding lists of ETFs?

Good answers above regarding the web sites. The best source is usually the issuer itself (Powershares/Ishares, etc.) However keep in mind that the holdings change over time, especially the "Top 10" holdings which carry the most weighting. So it's best to keep revisiting the site(s) every so...

No, I prefer equities and options, but I traded a few combines and did not pass. I think it's a great way to test your skills at futures in a monitored account vs. opening your own account and possibly "blowing up" in a month. There is ZERO margin for error in the combine, so you'll have to...

    Identifying Pump & Dump Schemes.

You can get a free list of the stocks that are on the move, then put them on your radar. FINVIZ.com is a good source. Or just develop your own watchlist as I mentioned earlier using some type of scanning tool.

No! TST is a scouting firm to find traders who want to trade live with backed capital. The fee is to enter a combine using very strict criteria (demo account with live data), and then you may be asked to pass a secondary program (called LTP). THEN you can trade TWO lots maximum in a 30k live...

First answer: plot the /DX chart and the /6E chart, and you will see they are basically mirror images. So if you're used to trading the eur/usd in Forex, then you probably can trade just the /6E directionally in futures. Second answer: CTS has videos that show how to use the T4 platform. I'm...
