    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Just thought I'd mention this from Thomson: [23:43 EUR/JPY Buoyant, Holding Below 137, Break Possible With EUR/USD] Tokyo, Nov 5. EUR/JPY remains relatively bid, trading up to 136.78 in London overnight before easing back to the 136.50 area seen currently. What EUR/USD does from here will...

Right on! ... and if in doubt - take profits! :)

Not pullbacks - but stalling, yes. The pullback we saw was partly after confusing Palestinian leader news, then the option-struggle and finally some profits which were rolled into a little oil slide into US close. This has more to do with US session, and I think one has to keep in mind the...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Yes, you're right. :D It's just that I've started mixing in some of this into how I did my position. Just the same way I took profits of +91 avg around here earlier today. The kind of slow creeping move we see now is typical for how we get higher when those big traders howl at the moon.

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Right now I'm +14 - still a little precarious - but it looks ready to jump back up. Any other opinions on the action now ? Still a good station to get in IMO. We will at least see 1.2880+ tonight ... and from there it's a short way to running for the 1.2900. All that's needed above 1.2880+ is a...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I prefer adding on heavier volume :D - when I see it as a range extension - quick running of stops only - but with immediate pull-back - not making any breaches - and being clear it's a get-in-opportunity. It might go back there several times - but as long as it's clear it won't breach - just...

Yes, it's easy to get into revenge-/recoup-trading when having a big winning move - when mixing styles like me. Scaling out is something I'm quite apt at doing, but trailing is still alien to me. I don't see the benefit of trading to my style - unless above a perceived profit level - i.e I...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I would like to comment on this too; since if you bought at 60 with conviction, and then at 54 .. maybe that's ok - because buying at exactly support-level / selling on resistance-level is dangerous since it's trying to breach it. If you then buy another time on 40 - with perception that it...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Just added a little here. I will have tighter stops on this one, but it's roughly half the size of the last position I had. Going into unknown territory is a little scarier. :)

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Came back to see the lows toward the session end, and I think that it's worth a try from low 60s to se if we can't breach 1.2900 - maybe in asian or european session. US RTH session is too choppy and jittery, but I guess I could see as some type of "consolidation" being formed above 1.2850 ...

Still choppy with range extensions, added another +10 scalp in there. Preferrably we'll stay over 1.2880-ish for some time. I'll stop now, since I'm getting just a tad too courageous. My spot demo trade is for 1.29+ though. Happy trading.

With FXCM and Refco FX 30-day demo accounts - Trading Station or going at www.ifrmarkets.com for a full-service. The movement extended to roughly 118 pips, but I think 91 on average was quite ok. I now think it will break 1.29 soon though.

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

.. and from Thomson: [15:10 GMT 4th November] As the political row surrounding the [EUR/USD] rate rages, the most sensible comments of the day have actually come from the Prime- Minister of Luxembourg who earlier claimed it was either useful or warranted for Eurozone politicians to comment and...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Thomson reports the size of the 1.2900 option as being $12 mn, and that the holder and seller battle it out. Anyone not seeing 1.2900 some time later today ? The first attempt was quite strong, but didn't quite do it. I think I will set in a long position from my demo spot - which has had a...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Today's european close will be very interesting - in fact, the imminent US equities open as well - all the way through 1.3000 later today ? I can't seem to make up my mind, and here's where the lack of systematic trading becomes a factor. I better stay a little with the scalping today, I find it...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

This baby looks ready to pop. No more shorting here for a little while. edit: Thomson says that Middle East names which capped above 1.28 with a lot of profit-taking are massive buyers here. They report talk that they have bought around 7 bn €s last 24h - perhaps as oil revenue...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Hmmm, maybe I'll have to take it easy a little now. I'm shorting here above 1.2890 ... :D Dangerous attitude, and I think the possibility that it might break up stronger very quick is playing with my mind - making me want to recoup potential further gains on the former position trade. +8 on 2...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I have the impression that trailing stops are best after passing a certain target ? I am not very comfortable using trailing stops, but I see the advantage when profits are going to be locked in - but letting it ride to a perceived maximum. Anyways, doesn't that already entail a better target ...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I think we'll see a little more choppy conditions on the open, so that's why I bailed out. Nice profits, although I didn't expect it so soon. It's definitely the way to go for propelling myself into bigger profits, though. Next time I will wait for similarily clear entry, as having 1.5 weeks...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Well, watching position like a scalp wasn't much of a help. I'm out with an average of +91 ticks on the position. :) I guess it's sane enough too take profits here. Will rather go into full scalping mode again.
