No Heat, all I can say is that you obviosly don't trade index futures.

    Trading to Live

For many years now I have been posting bullshit TA that I hoped was credible enough to dupe the unwary but original enough to provide amusement to the wary. Usually those were "brilliant" ideas that failed backtesting. Occasionally I have posted things which actually work, knowing full well that...

    I've never traded before

Spinn, kindly note that I suggested a 3K account, and no, I wasn't kidding. I think that NQ, for example, is easy to trade. It is all a matter of identifying its idiosyncracies and exploiting them.

    I've never traded before

Mind, no disrespect intended, we are just friendly joshing. I believe that the key to profitable trading is to avoid MM and company manipulation as much as possible. I believe that an index future exhibits manipulation to the least extent.

Mindtrade, consider that if he jacked his account up to 3 grand and traded at IB he could survive a long time and learn cheap lessons trading, say, NQ, with a hard 3 tick stop, ideally only a 20 buck hit with each loss. The occasional big win with a hyperbolic move would keep him alive.

    I've never traded before

My sincere best wishes for your success. The best advice I can offer is to avoid stocks and to trade one, and one only, high liquidity stock index future. You will learn a little, and that very slowly, by trading many different stocks. You will learn much more, and much faster, trading one...

To reiterate, I am posting to help fellow traders who may share the same perceptual malady from which I suffer. The congenital inability to see things that aren't there. This deficit prevented me for years from being able to become an SCT trader. But no more. I have managed to write code which...

    Motivationally Binding New Year's Resolutions

The Canadium Gouvernement does not permit private ownership even of Daisy Riders without a thorough background check. ET membership would disqualify M. Enquiquineur as an aberrant recidivist literary conservative, un taon.

    Motivationally Binding New Year's Resolutions

"You must pay for any new guns, ammo, accessories and range fees with futures trading net profits." Last year's resolution would have included strange pussy. Oh, well. At least I can still shoot. Guns. Feel free to share.

    Seeking Significance in Insignificance

Thank you for your thoughtful response, well put. ET as diary, anonymous confidante, sphere of psychological projection, venue for making new friends of like mind (my take on what you put more eloquently). I would only add one thing. To your list of needs. To get wasted periodically.

Oh, god! I have to go kill myself now! As proof positive of my insignificance, Jack replied! That gurgling sound you hear is bllod from my jugular gushing onto the keyboard. That is hard to do with blunt fingernails...

I love writing about SCT. It is such total bullshit that when I slather it with my own bullshit it almost looks respectable. Attached are the results of my automated SCT code for the day. The upper study is for one minute traders, like me. The lower study is five minute simulated on one minute...

TZ, it's not deflation. Rather deflatulation. My intraday systems are geared to wider range days than today's. So I find myself at loose ends, so to speak. And finishing codifrying SCT was a loose end. All the parts were there, so it took only five minutes. Repeat after me...

Indeed. Preferably with Canadian settings. In fact, I intend to buy Canada with my compounded SCT winnings. But only a province at a time, starting with Ontario.

BTW, this is sooooo complicated. In addition to time, price and volume, it uses only five variables and one constant. The code is 14 SLOCs, SLOC length being determined by the most number of statements that will fit on a line printable on A-size paper. This proves that not only can SCT be...

I will keep this brief. Lord knows ET storage and bandwidth are exceedingly precious, given the consistently high quality of posting. And most of you don't know what the hell I am talking about anyway. And those who do don't believe me. I came here to help. And now my work here is done. Attached...

Thank you all for your unkind replies. Whever I find myself feeling self-important and thinking that I have something of value to offer the trading community, pomposity deflation is only a post away. I am now temporarily in remission. I heartily recommend this to certain of my fellow ETer's who...

    Seeking Significance in Insignificance

In contradistinction to my anagramous associate Duref Mudgins, I make no secret of my loathing for the work of Sigmund Freud, a perv if ever there was one. I reserve my reserved admiration for Carl Jung, one of whose most famous insights was "All psychology is autobiography." Which led to my...
