Hilarious headlines for April 13th 2020

Well, I think him and I are looking a bit further out - two or three years plus. I think he has a very important message to "traders" - don't miss the forest for the trees. Very few can outperform buy and hold long term(especially after costs). Now if you are trading for income, that's a...

Hilarious headlines for April 13th 2020

Absolutely hate it ... Can only mean one thing - they are propping stocks up to dump at better prices.

    online course

Sounds like you need to do some research prior to paying for education. I think many people mistakenly equate paid education with shortcut to being profitable. Find a style that fits your personality and your goals first, then best instrument(s) for the style, then search for people to learn from.

Aren't these two completely different styles of trading?

    Real Estate

Lol. I'm seeing the country coming together to emerge stronger than ever. I call it Capitalism with safety net. Very very different from USSR style socialism.

Where do I get information about order imbalances and big orders

You need full depth level2. Lightspeed has it, IB has it. TD has only the top of books prices, so you will not see all the orders. The "order imbalances" refers to a different set of market data, hence your question was a bit confusing.

    Scaling in here

Well, this worked out nicely(cash covered puts in IRA account). Now is the hard part - I expected a more fierce short squeeze to sell initial shares and position lower at later time, but we may not see lower prices so I don't want to close existing positions. So the plan is to sell puts...

My Trading Quest - Can I be Profitable in 90 Days?

Just two!? Nice write ups. Personally, I am very sceptical of any courses that rely heavily on proprietary software/indicators. I feel like it's a trap to get people addicted to following signals rather than teaching how to trade. But these don't have to be mutually exclusive. May I ask how...

    Setting stops on longer-term trades

Agree 100%. Beyond swing trading, hard stops don't protect you. Have a mental stop if you want and if hit, decide what to do. Proper position sizing is your stop. I can only imagine the pain people felt during the flash crash when they were robbed of their stocks.

The good news is done, market has nothing good ahead

What's expected? I remember Gates and Buffet talking about moving away from quarterly reporting. I would not be surprised if companies will simply refuse to make any speculative guidance. Old rules may not apply.

    Thinkorswim vs Interactive Brokers

Look up Transaction Cost Analysis, but of course it's not available to retail.

    Thinkorswim vs Interactive Brokers

For people who don't see the advantage, there's none. In other words, if you don't need multitude of features offered by IB, there's no value in it. During these turbulent times, there were instances I could not use TD for charting because everything was freezing up, so I had to switch to IB...

I believe the era of mass consumption is over. The world will change now

Much respect to you, sir. I don't think we had "irrational exuberance" in any asset except Bitcoin, just my opinion. I can tell you that my family's consumption will not be affected, and I am middle class.
