    Chinese Company Buying G.M.’s Hummer Brand

    Agreed, but if they can lower the cost of Hummers by 40%, you might see many more of them sold.

    What would life be like with a worthless dollar?

    I agree with your posts and don't think there is anything racist about what you said. The facts are pretty much on your side.

    GM = Another AmTrak

    Wow, would our politicians do such a thing as to use tax payer money to secure re-election in their home district? That is quite frightening if so:D

    GM = Another AmTrak

    I for one, being a self-proclaimed capitalism supporter, will never purchase another GM or Chrysler vehicle until the government gets their hand out of these companies.

    Fed To Raise Rates At Next Meeting

    Really any savy trader/investor (be it realestate, stocks, or freaking beanie babies) should actually love bubbles. That is where the money is made. You just have to be on the right side. As for the equity markets, more times than not, being long is the correct side.

    GM = Another AmTrak

    It will cost us 100x what AmTrak costs the tax payer. A- It's several times the size of Amtrak B- GM has A LOT of competition from domestic and import auto makers

    Here It Comes! Capital Fleeing U.S.A. for Emerging Markets. Next SuperCycle Begun.

    If I remember correctly, ByLoSellHi voted for Obama. I may be wrong, but I seem to recall him promoting Obama. Anyway, I don't have the time to sift through 9,500 posts in order to verify that, so maybe BLSH can chime in.

    National debt at $545,668 per household

    But how many households are net tax payers? I think 45% don't pay any income tax, IIRC

    Anything tradeable on a Saturday?

    I can only imagine the volume and spreads on the Karachi Stock Exchange

    Will Cap and Trade Cost American jobs?

    This will go down as the biggest economic blunder in the past 50 years, IMO. This is the type of thing that has long lasting ramifications and could burry the Dems for decades if they botch up the economy worse than it already is. I'm not an economist, but I don't see any way in which...

    Random thoughts on the VAT

    I just can't see them seriously pushing this thing either. Try to pass a VAT or National Sales Tax in lieu of an income tax = huge backlash from the net tax benificeraries. Try to pass a VAT on top of income tax = lose the net tax payers in this country

    Once Considered Unthinkable, U.S. Sales Tax Gets Fresh Look

    Bush was a heck of a lot closer to socialist, than to facist, IMO.

    Once Considered Unthinkable, U.S. Sales Tax Gets Fresh Look

    Exactly!!!!! ALL taxes are wealth redistribution any way you slice it. Now, I'm not saying we don't need a military, roads, schools, and even some sort of wellfare, but nonetheless it's all wealth redistribution regardless.

    Once Considered Unthinkable, U.S. Sales Tax Gets Fresh Look

    I just can't see this happening. It would be the death blow to the Dems for another decade. I would welcome this debate in the public opinion forum. If they seriously try to push this, the GOP picks up the House in 2010 and the Senate and POTUS in 2012. Unfortunately, they will likely try...

    Job Fight: Immigrants vs. Locals

    phone for trading, aircard Q as well?

    I have an aircard and I do think it's quite a little slower than my home cable connection. I feel like it's a little slower than even DSL. With that said, the connectivity seems to work well, and it's rare that I have to reconnect due to a lost connection. Unless you're talking about real...

    "Permanent job loss" fallacy. There is no permanent job loss!

    This 426653478 charachter is just a jealous brit who is posting for attention's sake. Just another in a long line of ET losers who desperately need to create attention on an anonymous internet forum because in real life, they have no prospects for success or attention whatsoever.

    "Permanent job loss" fallacy. There is no permanent job loss!

    The mortgage market is booming right now with refi's. With that said, you're point is still valid, IMO.
