I agree that "nothing is ever what it seems"....which keeps me out of the prediction business. I just go with the tape. And I would also say that there is always some nervous shorts, always people picking the bottom, always panicky longs. That said, we break the uptrend line yesterday...

I don't know if it's old news. Today I'm seeing WFC, BAC, and JPM down well over $1 each. I see oil up $3 at one point. PPI in double digits. Euro rallying. Plenty of reasons to be down other than just FNM. The fact that VIX is not moving simply indicates that everyone wants to buy...

Evidently you're looking at an intraday chart to determine oversold....because this market is quite a ways from being oversold on a daily basis. OldTrader

Nothing against PA...I'm a proponent. Nothing against trailing a stop either. But let's face it, either of these techniques will cost you some of the 10 point gains too. So whether it actually improves jagmot's method really depends on a discretionary method that as of yet has not been set...
