    An American Hero

Here's the initial portion of article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice: Article 92—Failure to obey order or regulation Text. “Any person subject to this chapter who— (1) violates or fails to obey any lawful general order or regulation; (2) having knowledge of...

    An American Hero

That's the oath that an officer takes after he is commissioned. The first oath everyone takes when the enlist is the following: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear...

    An American Hero

Of course I have an idea of what I'm talking about. I spent appoximately 3 years in the US Army Special Forces. I was wounded twice in VietNam. I have known many real heros who have earned their medals by shedding blood on a foreign soil. I also have known a few chickshits who escaped...

    An American Hero

Perhaps we could have Cindy Sheehan give him a medal! And then right afterwards we could have the members of the military vote on what conflicts and/or wars they approve of, prior to any engagements. Hero my ass. You do dishonor to all of the true military heros who have risked their life...

Hey magnum trader....why don't you post your own "resume" as long as you're going to take shots at someone else? Or is there anything to post? OldTrader

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Locals don't wait for volume to dry up. In fact, they trade off the paper that enters the pit. When volume dries up chances are high they go have their smoke break. By the way, they're not waiting for market profile set-ups, etc etc. They are scalpers trading off the paper entering the pit...

    InteractiveBrokers ES Quote stuck?

If I may ask, how do you make 60 backfill requests in a 5 minute period? That seems like it would be difficult, unless I'm misunderstanding. OldTrader

    Fear of a catastrophe - a permabear's complex

There was no "analogy" between 9/11 and the London bombings whitster. You missed the point of the post. Perhaps you should contemplate what the effect of the London bombings might have been had the market been in the same condition as it was on 9/10/2001. That was the point of my post...

    Fear of a catastrophe - a permabear's complex

I completely disagree. I think you miss the whole point. You're right...there is no debate over whether the market was bullish or bearish on 9/11. By any definition it was bearish. And therefore, any news will typically accentuate the downside. If a surpisingly bullish news announcement...

    Fear of a catastrophe - a permabear's complex

I thought you were a "permabear". Isn't that what you said?:D I mean here you and Neet are, both bear biased evidently, and you were both buying on 9/10???? Should have been a picnic for a bear, right? Here's the bottom line. "Crashes/catastrophies" typically occur after a period of...

    Fear of a catastrophe - a permabear's complex

I think what he's telling you is that there was no technical reason to be playing the long side on 9/10. Think about it....we were trading at new lows for the week, month, and year that day. That's as much technical weakness as you will ever see. OldTrader

Two questions: my apologies if you've already answered this elsewhere. 1) When you sell options do you sell the futures options, or some other option? 2) When/if you close your long futures contracts, do you also close the options positions? Thanks OldTrader

Best DataFeed to compliment my IB account?

Whoever is telling you this is wrong. IB datafeeds are not slow. Charts may well be a different matter. I have not used the charts. OldTrader

IB backfill is next to useless. Takes 45 seconds+ to fill a simple 1 stock request.

I think you should mention you've had a case of the ass at IB for some time now....you are hardly an unbiased source of information. For what it's worth, I've never had a problem with IB QUOTES. Never used the charts. There is a distinction there. OldTrader

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Thanks for the answer. One more question. When you add to your long term position (I believe I read that you are long from much lower levels), do you set a new stop for the add-ons? Or do you have a combined stop for all the long term contracts regardless of time of purchase? In other words...

Nice trade so far. Kinda of a moot question at this point, but what type of stop were you using with those buys? Was this part of your long term buys? Thanks. OldTrader

    Jim Rogers, not so bright?

Exactly. The interview was in February of 2005. You could consider the copyright of the book, or the age of Jim's daughter (which alone would preclude the interview from having been in the 90's). Or, you could refer to the date on the interview...February of 2005. OldTrader

Do you own a HP-12C financial calculator?

I've been using a 12C since the late 1980's I guess. Lost the first one, bought another about 1993 which I still use today. Great calculator, but I don't use it for trading. I've used it to figure mortgages, and probably would be a good bond calculator but I'm not into bonds. Good financial...
