I think I figured out why trading can never work for so many people

Good analysis of the problem by OP and great advices on solutions by ND. Trading indeed makes so many people crazy, because unless you have a solid systematic approach, you're left with subjective guessing, which is extremely hard process emotionally unless you're a person with absolute trust...

Pretty far apart geographically, but pretty close mentally. :D

    Intuition Amplifiers 2

I am aware of longer definition, which was taught in the university, where I studied psychology. :) Intuition is knowledge, which has not reached the fully conscious level yet. And here lies the problem: very hard for a conscious-oriented person to trust something not fully conscious...

    Intuition Amplifiers 2

Have a minute to participate here (on vacation until Monday as well). And the question still exists: how can we possibly "quantify" intuition? And is it possible at all? Because for a logical person like me it's difficult to distinguish constructive intuition from the random emotions...

    Who Is A Bad Trader?

Who do you think produces those massive volumes in the e-minis, especially ES? Retail traders? :D

    Who Is A Bad Trader?

Instead of calling people like Bighog, who really know something about the world's toughest trading games, such as day trading ES, morons, some of the thread participants would benefits to themselves much more of they just kept humble silence and listened, listened to every word such people say...

    Who Is A Bad Trader?

It's amazing how quickly a thread started about traders flaws turned into a witch hunt for gurus somehow responsible for others failures. An excellent demonstration of why exactly people fail at trading! Also an excellent demonstration of complete ignorance... futures can be traded just...

Not sure about easier. For many here toughness of past years developed strong inferiority complex and absence of motivation. But those of us who still believe in ourselves are like hungry wolves, that's for sure. :D When you stood in the food lines in your childhood (late 80's/early 90's in...

Ha, still get my head knocked periodically to keep the shape. :D Actually I am probably the laziest trader around. Only spend 2 hours per day on NQ. And that's day trading. :)

Quite an argument. :D Guess it depends from one's point of view and background, what is easier to do.

Maybe with such an approach (scaling in/out) anything is fine for you, but not for me. I like to be all in/out and have a very tight risk. My game is small losses, small wins, big wins.

Would gladly trade something else in addition to the Euro during London session. But so far haven't found anything. FESX is liquid, but it doesn't move. Much the same with FGBL. DAX and FTSE more or less move, but are illiquid... so hardly any alternative to US SIFs and currencies so far.

Well, I recommend you to try increasing size slowly on DAX before concluding 100 won't be an issue. Following this advice will save you a lot of money, believe me. Something showing in the book doesn't mean you will get it all filled without being flipped if you get what I mean. :) Agree that...

Hmm... I've never paid a penny to Xspurt. And I humbly think that I'm no rookie anymore, since I trade for 8 years already. So you probably confuse me with someone else. :) I said me and Xspurt are friends and in continuous contact since early 2008 and he taught me some valuable trading...

How could it be picked if I started that public record almost immediately after you challenged me? There are a few guys here @ ET, who saw that record accumulating over time, because before ET, I published it at my own place. The same place where I post NQ calls nearly every day and Euro calls...

You seriously day trade 20 DAX contracts at a clip? I tried that vehicle, but it's wild and very thin, even worse than CL, which is close to be untradable on 20 cars, with my style, which is breakouts mostly at least. I would really be stressed to day trade 20 DAX contracts as it would be...

Nope can't fake it indeed. At least I am not aware of any possible way. The only problem is many services like this are available for forex, but I don't know if something similar exists for futures. Maybe Collective2, but I am not sure how to attach it to the trading platform in order to...
