    ex-dividend and options

Atrp2biz gave you a perfect answer. It is not necessarily "priced in" if your call is deep in the money, as it wont go less than parity. By exercising the call, and buying the put (for less then the dividend), you capture the "extra value" of the call by getting the dividend (you then have the...

    Protecting unvested AMZN stock gains

We could give you better advice if you told us what price you will get to buy the stock and when in 2018. Essentially you are getting a "free call" on Amazon. Lets say your option they have given you lets you buy 100 shares of the stock at 900 and vests in June of 2018. If you simply sold the...

    Interesting order fill behavior

Cttfs, I see this happen all the time. I don't believe it has to do with removing liquidity charges as JSOP suggests, as the MM would face the same charges trading with you when your order is resubmitted. I believe it has to do with simply being a new order that goes through an price...

Unusual Execution Price for Options Combo Order

That's a good point. I wasn't aware that you might pay a premium in commissions for direct routing with IB. This makes the decision tougher. I think its worth a comparison, send a small order direct routed and one smart routed and see where gives you a better fill vs increased commissions.

IB market making in options - Conflict of interest possible?

Having a large trader designation should have nothing to do with professional customer trading status.

Unusual Execution Price for Options Combo Order

I would recommend against legging out of this spread. You will get a much better fill if you enter the order as a spread. Market makers will require less of an edge. Simply put the order in as a spread a bit away from where you want to be filled, and then raise the price until you are filled...

Unusual Execution Price for Options Combo Order

The individual prices that you were filled at are meaningless, just the total net debit or credit is important. Will have no bearing at all on the unwinding of the trade in the future. The reason this happens is because there are so many different exchanges. You may see a market of 3.30-3.80...

IB market making in options - Conflict of interest possible?

Dollar value of trades will not make you a professional customer. It will force you to get a "large trader ID'. Enter more then 390 trades on average in any given month, you will be classified as a professional customer. Note that any price change or quantity change will count as a new order...

Looking for an IB for Wedbush / well capitalized firm for trading futures

Dextor, We are talking about Robert Morse, a very frequent contributor to these forums. He works with Lightspeed, an introducing broker to Wedbush. He will be able to answer all your questions. We were joking a bit as he seems to be on the forums at all times of day and hadn't answered your...

    Whither UVXY options?

You're right Bob, regular UVXY options are there today.

    Whither UVXY options?

I don't think it is an IB thing. When I pull up UVXY on my system, all that I see is UVXY1 (and UVXY2, UVXY3 which are adjusted back month contracts from previous splits). 1 contract of the new UVXY1 is equal to 25 UVXY. I don't see anything quoted other then these. The Nasdaq link you had...

    Whither UVXY options?

Try UVXY1, this is the split adjusted symbol.

Buying / Selling at $0.01 when min Bid (for display to market) is $0.05

That was the case at the CBOE as well. Not sure how it works today. Only the MM's could see these bids.

Lightspeed Trader Adds Short Locate Functionality

Hey Bob, When I look for a short, I am given an interest rate I have to pay or it is listed as zero. With your example above I see there is simply a charge listed. Is this a one time charge instead of a negative short rate or in addition to?

    Options question please...>decay<

You are being called a stupid ass because of the way you responded to Robert Morse, not because you are asking basic questions. He gave you some good links to look at. Why would anyone want to help someone who comes here with your horrible attitude?

DryShips (DRYS) Declares $2.5M Quarterly Dividend

I was thinking the same thing. Another reverse split a few days ago and it is right back down again. Same thing over and over again. Seems like a huge fraud that is allowed to continue.

Managing Premarket when it opens at 4:00AM but brokers open at 8:00AM or so

I opened an account at IB specifically to trade the early option session, starting at 2am ct. for the SPX and the VIX. They are the only retail broker I know that allows this.
