Starting Daytrading Firm in India or China - advice?

I have a friend who's opened a shop in China. For starters, you better get your butt over there and make some friends in the business community. If you don't have a local business partner, you are out of luck.

How do you solve this problem?

You post the same questions over and over, and get the same advice, but continue to trade as if you have no clue what you're doing or why you're doing it! Your time in this business is limited (unless your capital is not). Seriously think about what you're doing here or you are toast...

logging into IB acct management problem- ever seen this?

When I try to log into my account on IB's website, after typing my user id and password, I am always taken to a page for trading permissions for the Sydney futures exchange. Nothing I do will get me anywhere else, I'm completely locked out it seems (unless I actually want to subscribe to the...

    Physics and Trading? Hmm…….

Nothing special with that revelation. Have your friend read up on bollinger bands or keltner channels. He's about 5% of the way to having a tradeable strategy.

    tough trading week of 09/11/06

Some of my strategies did really well this week. I found some good intra day trends and scalp plays. However my statistical-based position trades got worked over and over by, I assume, options expiration related activity. The last hour of the day today was particularly brutal.

    Best NYC prop outfits?

Realize that most of those are not 'jobs'. They're basically brokers where you put up money and they charge you commissions. By asking for a resume, they hope to sound high falutin', but really all you need is cash and a pulse and you're 'hired'.

    Why I love daytrading....

Ummm.... you might want to reconsider that statement until you've done, oh, say 100 times more trades. If you're penniless, unemployed and have a huge hole in your resume, that grocery store job might look pretty good. Especially since the clerk will probably already be promoted to cashier...
