The Opening Orders Thread

I got the moc's, just took a day to confirm. I'm guessing there was a lot of guys working late on Tuesday matching up closing trades.

    The Opening Orders Thread

Those were a scary first 15 minutes today. Got out with an ok profit, but I had to sweat for it. Was loaded to the gills in other accounts, so I was a little quick on the sell button with these.

    The Opening Orders Thread

That bogus PG print burned lots of people today (cost me over $4,000). I used to have a good system to catch these, but don't have the right data subscription anymore, will have to work on that.

Market order 37 seconds before close and NYSE won't honor it...

I have four market on close orders that were at the specialist's post a good two hours before the close and were never executed. They closed most stocks manually today and I was still getting executions an hour after the market was closed. Not sure what I'll wake up to, but I've been told that...

Blotter is messed up with stocks still not closed, whacked out closing prices, etc. But about -$6500 net on 515,000 shares. Wildest P/L swing I think I've ever had, +17k at the highs, -20something at the lows. Tough day to be a liquidity provider...

Does anyone know where I can find a spreadsheetlike this?

Excel has a great help file. Think of what you'd like Excel to do, look it up in the help file and figure it out. You can become quite an excel whiz just by constantly trying to make it do what you want (and it can do almost anything).

    Any motorcycle riders?

I got a supermoto last year, a Suzuki DRZ400. Awesome bike, a blast to drive in the city. Going to throw a few mods on it before spring.

    Spock

I always used to think Spock would be a great trader. You want to detach from human emotion when trading. Ideally, all your decisions would be based on only reason and logic.

-$6200 net on 361,000 shrs. The day started off bad, then a 4 grand fat finger error made it A LOT worse. The blotter is out by a few hundred because of an after hours trade on friday that was marked with a wrong close.

Whats this!!!! Farmland prices rise faster than some Manhattan and London apartments

This thread has piqued my interest, partly because I live in the middle of a huge grain farming area in central Canada. I bought a local farming newspaper today to get an idea of $/acre costs and something doesn't line up. It looks like good quality, cultivated grain growing farmland is...

    Prop Commission vs IB's

As has been discussed above, IB will match or beat many prop firm's rates, depending on your trading style and volume. The main reason people trade prop is for the leverage. Intraday leverage is free, usually at least 10x your capital and often multiples of that. Heavily leveraged overnight...

    tuco trading llc

Most traders are on HydraTrade, which supports server side stops. You can also use Sterling, but I don't know how stops are handled with it. The reason you won't see prop firms publishing specific pricing is that every trader is unique and they won't all be offered the same deal. Volume...

    Prop Commission vs IB's

Keep in mind that IB's .5 is an all in rate, that includes ecn, sec, nasd fees, etc. You want to compare their unbundled rate to prop rates, as you won't get an all in at a prop firm (not a good one anyway).
