    Eurusd At Critical Mass

I never trust line charts in any time frame. I think direction of eur will be down vs dollar in coming weeks, although it should go higher vs aud, cad and lower vs jpy. JMO's.

Any thoughts on today's action so far?

what do you guys make of EUR/USD?

It's ok man, like I said, you misinterpreted my intent when I used the word "expensive". No need to justify your position or qualify the losses here, it really wasn't your outlook on the direction of eur that my original post referred to anyways. But keep up the great trading! :)

what do you guys make of EUR/USD?

PS, I think going long at 1.2245 the next time we get there will get you your 40 pips faster! jmo

what do you guys make of EUR/USD?

It's expensive when you're wrong, is all I'm saying :) The "higher it goes, the more I want to short it" attitude is a killer every so often. But I probably put you on the wrong time frame you trade on when you say "go back up", given the above, so I guess misinterpretations both ways. Nope...

EUR Forecast:Slip to 1.1310 at Nov. 4 nearby

I think for many ppl the picture is the rationale -- whichever outcome makes the prettiest picture, that's the call I suppose.

My journey: Stocks to eminis, scalping to strategy

I have the same problem, except on a wider time frame. All my setups combined produce about 2-3 signals a week across several markets, the rest of the time is just waiting. It took a very long time to adjust to a different pace of trading; I still allow myself a few higher frequency intraday...

IB - stops not triggering (again)

On a side note, why is it sometimes that stop-limit orders start out dark blue, then after a time turn green -- at which point the order is still open and unexecuted, but when I try to modify the stop or limit price I get the msg "this order cannot be changed because it has already been...

Gaining an edge with Trailing Stops!

I thought this thread was adding the element of a trailing stop vs a straight up SL -- in that case, the trailing stop is a progressively tighter stop and not as wide as a pure SL left upon entry. Nevermind then :)

Gaining an edge with Trailing Stops!

How does setting a trailing stop help you capture a big trend? If you happen to catch a move that goes straight up or down, it really doesn't matter if you leave your stop at a loss, breakeven, or trail. All you are doing by implementing indiscriminate trailing stops is lowering the...

Gaining an edge with Trailing Stops!

Until you get over 1), the rest is meaningless. Fiddling with stops won't give you an edge if you didn't have one beforehand.

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

If this is just a semantics issue, so be it. But you can have prints when price is still far from achieving any sense of equilibrium or balance of demand and supply (which is my concept of what "equilibrium" entails). What does "equilibrium" mean when explosions in London take down the SP 25...

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

It seems there are those who are just arguing concepts of supply and demand for the sake of theoretical accuracy, which really has nothing to do with how a trader observes supply/demand in the more concrete sense. To think of every transaction = supply and demand reaching equilibirium, even at...

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

This seems like a very dangerous play for individual stocks, even for mega-caps like IBM (see April). I'd think you'd need to go for alot more than just a few points rebound to make up for the few times whatever news is coming out has not yet been fully priced by the time you are in. Setups...

    Is Vol. Really Important ?

Changes in volume evoke the same rear-view after-the-fact reasoning as changes in price; when all is said and done, it's last price which ultimately determines what "evidence" changes in volume actually "yield" (a blow-off top, a paradigm shift, a sudden acquistion rumor -- what differentiates...

    trade bust on comex

Unless you are trading the electronic contracts, the prices you are quoted may just be indications, not firm bids w/size attached. A bit OT, but has the liquidity in the large electronic contracts (ZG, ZI) gotten any better?
