I'm short biased today after the sharp reversal early this morning. I waited for my 16 tick "pullup" and finally shorted at 1.2612. I'm hoping for a trend down day, but it's just a hope.... Edit: Right now I have an 8 tick stop. But I'll move it down soon.

I smell some addiction here :) I have the same bug too! I couldn't resist and shorted around 1.2628 area. That one got busted with 4-5 ticks. I put a second short from the same level. I have an urge to bag this trade and carry it overnight. I'll see how things go towards the Globex halt.

Nice job. I'm back to slightly negative territory but for my style and the type of the day , I'm happy with the results.

I'm pushing my physical limits too this morning. Man also, this beast has beeen on slippery ground. I'm on my fourth trade, doing little bit better than b/e. I'm on the long camp now. Philly Fed #s is coming up in about 40 mins.

I took an 8 tick profit on my long then shorted at 1.2305 and went -8 ticks on that trade.

The runup and downturn made a full cycle--we're back to the background level. I couldn't sleep well last night (only about two hours) after my monster 13 hours bedtime Wed. nite. Fuzziness in my mind is creeping up...

Yes it depends. If you hold stocks less than a year you pay short-term higher taxes. If you hold them longer than a year, you pay the lower long-term capital gains taxes. For futures, holding time doesn't matter you pay 60% long term + 40% short term taxes. Tax rules favor short term futures...

I'm still in simulation mode just for the purpose of re-training myself to properly trail my positions. I'm trying to see if there's something holding me back from trailing properly according to what I came up with and wanted to do it without interference from P/L.

TradingWise, It depends on your profit level of course but it'll be around 30% for futures products for about $100k capital gains.

Gringinho, From what I see the market depth and T&S are good for at most 10-12 tick moves. Beyond that for larger moves, as you said, it introduces "noise" into your system. Usually these nice intraday "trends" moves come with many pullbacks some up to 20-25 ticks deep. The best one can do...
