Your computer could be killing you

At least when floor traders got "that sinking feeling", they'd know why.

    this day sucks

I use Interactive Brokers. Here are some others you could use, from a list provided on www.onechicago.com ("Find A Broker") Security futures can be traded in either a securities account or a futures account maintained by either a securities broker or a futures commission merchant...

Your computer could be killing you

Maybe I should buy a waterbed, then I too can decorate my computer while sitting in bed, avoiding embolism and oncoming traffic.

Your computer could be killing you

Yes, it seems that the prolonged immobile sitting was the suspect, not the computer. Personally, my computer's by my bed (man am I lazy), and I'm in bed the whole time I use it. Now, if the hours I spend in bed using my computer were "lethal" too, well, we'd all be dead from sleeping 8 hours...

Time Decay: loser bet. No time decay in SSF, you'd be amazed the peace of mind that gives you after trading options.

The S&P E-mini is $50 per point, the Nasdaq 100 E-mini is $20. Add them to your trading page, if you can.

    Trading Breakouts: A newbie question

Better to be overly cautious than to be trigger-happy and trading too recklessly. You may indeed be trading something too big. Start out with something small, small lots, dip your toes in until you get comfortable.

Who's actually making a living trading? PLEASE BE HONEST

At this point, yes. I started out trading options exclusively, and I had tried to trade only one specific stock's options for a long time. But that approach didn't work out well for me. Anyhow, since all the (neverending) SEC restrictions made it more and more difficult to trade stocks and...

Who's actually making a living trading? PLEASE BE HONEST

I just looked at SPY and DIA, and I suspect DIA is just as volatile. SPY doesn't even seem to have options traded off it. If you have over $25,000 in your account, then you will have access to 4:1 intraday margin. But if you don't, the most you'll have is 2:1 margin. With DIA stock...

You left off option # 4.5. You could work full time and trade when you're off work. Either work a night shift and trade during the day, or work a regular job and trade the E-minis after hours.

Don't think so, that's why I suggested the DIA. Can you explain for me the difference between SPY and DIA? There's a bunch of Russell Fund SSF's available. IWB: Russell 1000 IWD: Russell 1000 Value Index Fund IWF: Russell 1000 Growth Index Fund IMW: Russell 2000 IWN: Russell...

Eifuku Hedge Fund loses 98% capital in 7 days

Yul Brynner was famous for always dressing in black. If I don't understand the method, I won't trade it. There's a lot I don't understand. That's ok, better to distill whatever I do down to even simplistic terms I can grasp, rather than try to gamble on something that I can't even tell if...

Who's actually making a living trading? PLEASE BE HONEST

You're trading the SPY because you don't feel ready for the larger S&P Mini. You might want to consider trading the DIA Single Stock Future. It has the advantages of futures trading, with the advantage of trading smaller than the E-mini. more: www.onechicago.com
