Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

Hey Spyder, I am hoping you could critique my MTOX chart. The reason I posted this is because the equities charts on occasion throw me off when drawing gaussians because the volume bars don't always flow like the ES bars (more random to me at least). This is one of those charts (the...

Hey Spyder I am hoping you could expand upon this quote from this post from futures journal http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1592087#post1592087. I have included the text from that post below. I understood that statement to indicate that your surprises in your...

Yes carry over channels are drawn using previous day's bars (9:30am to 4:15pm EST). Spyder does not use the overnight session for his CO channels.

Here is a drill that has helped me to 1) Not get hyper about a bar that is changing color (red/blk/red/blk) frequently and 2) be patient with my positions as long as I am in the right side of the market. I have run this by Spyder and he has given me the OK to post it. It comes with some...

Double tops and double bottoms are indeed odd harmonics and signal change unless the bars are flaw bars. However TWO conditions have to to satisfied for the bars to be considered Double Tops (DT) or Double Bottoms (DB). 1) The bars have to be a DB or DT during the formation of bars AND 2)...

You are not alone. I noted a short around the 12:00pm bar as a pt 3 down. My RTL was broken on decreasing black volume (meaning my channel must be re-drawn) and we were still on a down trend. When I annotated a B2B (12:30-12:50 time frame) I wondered if I missed something because the...

David, after an FTT in an up channel, I look at anything other than increasing black as validation of a FTT. One gets decreasing black in 1) a down channel or 2) a lateral in an up channel. So when I see decreasing black, I am thinking we are in a retrace of a down channel (formed...

I certainly did not think I was guessing. The B2B on the ES I mentioned (was 4 bars before 15:15) confirmed that the ES was in an uptrend and 15:00/15:05 had decreasing red (confirming the uptrend - continuation). The only change signal at this point would have been increasing RED (PRV...

Here is how I handled it. Had a B2B on the ES (14:40 - 14:50) and a B2B on the YM (15:04-15:10). Only place price could go was up (dominant direction) but was ready to reverse if we got increasing red instead (R2R).

P1 could you clarify what you meant?. It seems like your two statements are contradictory. Minority is the side with the smaller size on the bid ask pair. Minority control says the price will GENERALLY move in the direction of the smaller size on the bid/ask (price moving down if the bid...

Bob I am glad you brought this topic up. I have been trying to define what ANTICIPATION is and to differentiate it from PREDICTION, Until today, I am not sure I knew what exactly the precise definition of ANTICIPATION as we refer to it is. One can always say he/she is anticipating but still...

Anyone had to do anything special to get ES quotes from MBT into QT? I am using the symbol /ESU7 but I am not getting any quotes. I get equities quotes in QT from MBT without any problems. I have also tried the MB Navigator and Ninja. Both work fine and they do receive ES quotes from MBT.

My apologies if I have caused any confusion by my explanation. I meant to explain that the usual result could be a GAIN or LOSS of a few ticks if you took action when what you anticipated did not happen. You seem to have focused on just the LOSS of .25 to 0.50. In my...

A Wash trade is when you exit or reverse after taking a position for a gain/loss of 1-2 ticks or no gain/loss because price did not move as you had anticipated. As for an example, you enter on what you think is a pt 3 however, it turns out that the non-dominant traverse is not done yet and...
