London, UK is not cool anymore - I'm leaving

£7?!!... costs me almost £60 to fill my tank!! Then again, went to Dubai a few months ago and couldn't help feeling it was just a hot, dusty, concrete playground, sprawling with cranes and construction sites, even on the beach! No history, no culture, just a commercial explosion! :D...

    The Path Less Traveled...

I agree that the way the information was presented made it more amenable to a risk/benefit analysis, and while there is definitely an element of that, in the grand scheme of things, it's just another factor in the decision. Of the three traders I know personally, two are very successful. The...

LOL, I hear ya! Crux of the dilemma. Indy trader vs cracking the PE/VC world. Both appealing in their own right. Perhaps the only person qualified to answer the question is a VC partner who started life as an indy trader, or vice versa. Of course, they're a dime a dozen. :D

Well, it all depends on how you interpret the MBA rankings. The most highly regarded are: Financial Times Business Week US News & World Report Economist Intelligence Unit Wall Street Journal As might be expected, there is no clear consensus. However, the US programs that are ranked...

Yeah, Button Trader got a few mentions in that market depth thread. Will have to look into it. And one of the main posters was possibly your Starbucks guy. :D Not sure if my powers of concentration would be up to just staring at the DOM all day long...

Thanks for the link, BoyBrutus. Excellent thread. :) I'm pretty sure I'll need to read it a few times to understand everything, especially once I'm more familiar with the inner workings of the DOM. Some of the main points I took away were: 1) Bid/ask pollution by spoof orders 2)...

Ok, I think it may complicate (rather than simplify) things to remain in the original vein, so will continue posting observations. Referring back to the above DOM, lets say 1270 is a significant resistance level. Strength The greater the number at 1270, and the greater the depth of...

I’d like to outline my initial impressions based on a couple of weeks of observation. This will hopefully prompt some discussion and an interchange of ideas by those who have more experience in applying the DOM to their ES trading. In typical fashion, I prefer to dramatize ideas for...

I'm sure it takes a long time to get to grips with the DOM, and that there are no shortcuts. Saying that, does anyone have any useful advice for novice DOM/tape readers?

Thanks for the clarification, Jeb. Interesting article to boot. The natural follow-on question would be do you really need to process every individual update in order to utilize the DOM as a trade-assist tool? My analogy would be a pitched medieval battle, 10,000 strong. At any one...

    Us bank

I signed up with CHASE a couple of years ago. Can't recall the specifics though I'm afraid. I believe the application had to be done in person, and I think they also wanted a US-correspondence address in addition to the international one. Good luck.
