    ebay auctions and trading

Yeah, but that's no fun :D. See, if you bid on something but do not win it, all you've done is raised the price. Everybody takes the previous winning bids into account during the auction process (well, not everybody, but the pros do, anyway). So one of the keys is to not bid unless you are...

Hey, thanks for the info War Eagle. Can you spread one application across 2 dual matrox cards? The main reason I am upgrading is to get more charts from Tradestation. . .

    Contrarian!

Crap, that's the same thing I thought when I read that, just a few minutes ago. Maybe it's not true contrarian then. . .

    dumb question????

If yer running WinXP (maybe the pro version only, not sure) then you can synch up every morning with MS (which is what I do). Just right click on the clock (default spot is the lower right hand of your screen), select Adjust Date & Time, select the Internet Time tab, and click on the Update Now...

Pring's Book: Technical Analysis Explained - Any good?

Martin has another book out (does this guy spend any time trading?) called "Technical Analysis Explained : The Successful Investor's Guide to Spotting Investment". Sporting a list price of $55, I was wondering if anybody here has read it. Any comments on this text?

    Molon Labe- where's my $10,000 ??

I think that what happened is Vinnie got called in a bluff. Molon seemed to have the whole thing ready to roll, all Vinnie had to do was cough up his 10k for the bet. But he wouldn't. And now here he is, claiming the war has started (news to the rest of us, I'm sure) and also claiming that...

    The market is whispering something...

It's even more of a long shot that we can appreciate. These guys spend their days planning and their nights dreaming about this sort of stuff, both the leaders to defend it and the rest to start it. I'd give the Kurds a better chance at overthrowing SH than this style of coup.

    MSFT---SPLIT and DIVIDEND

Bah. From Yahoo, today's range was 55.11 - 56.65, $1.54 per share. Just shy of ten times the flippen quarterly divended. Stock prices need to tank and earnings need to grow by leaps and bounds to bring this market back to reality.

    The market is whispering something...

So suppose you had bet 10k on whether there was a war or not (pick a side) in the next 6 months. How would you lay off risk?

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Some prop firm had an ad in December's TASC that had commissions (all-inclusive) of .007 cents per share. Say, I just noticed there is no cents sign on my keboard. I remember there was one on typewriters. Would that be a sign of inflation if it didn't survive the conversion to computers...

    Dow About to Break Out?

One bull correction until tax day coming up. We gotta do something to get some more lewt in this market, and this is it. A bit after Valentine's, the main stream press will be saying the bear is dead, and it's safe to put all your money into the stock market. That will last just long enough...

    spectre level 4

Be suspicious. While I don't know squat about SL4, I do know that many people here at Elite tried to get the free trial after some. . . errr. . . pretty strong claims by a person who claimed to run the show over there. I do know they had a pretty cool looking website :D .

Microsoft Settles Calif. Suits for $1 Bln

Back during the height of "Irrational exuberance", I found a company (OTC, I think), that did absolutely nothing. They were funded to examine other companies and consider buying one. No promises, even. They had absolutely zero income, zero revenue and zero sales and absolutely no expectation...

The trial lawyers, of course. Too bad they aren't publicly traded :(, I need a nice long term investment.
