Swing Traders: What are your monthly returns?

Your stats also show that it's statistically possible to make more than 100% per month. So, what's your point?

Swing Traders: What are your monthly returns?

Math in an excel spreadsheet doesn't transpose to real trading results unfortunately.

Swing Traders: What are your monthly returns?

Yes. And you'll find out when you'll start trading with real money. Best luck to you.

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

I was referring to options as this is the subject of this thread. Peterffy may not be owning exchange (although he owns part of some option exchanges...yes, that's legit!!!), but he used to own a very profitable MM firm (before the penny pilot program).

My "sell to open" option did NOT hit any markets today!!

MM do their profit from buying at the bid and selling at the offer. They can do so because they make the market (in the option world), and they can simultaneously quote on thousands of series at the same time and react to the underlying market very quickly, probably faster than any retail...

    Latency

What do you mean exactly by 'latency'? Cause pure latency is only a matter of distance. Are you referring to response time from the time your order is sent from the time you receive the fill?

A Day Trader in United Arab Emirates, Dubai.

A lot of ET participants ask this question. Like if it was. It tells a lot about the person asking it. It's not important how much one is making today, or yesterday. Trading (not investing!) is not about how much you do in one day. It's how much you do in months/quarters. Anyone can have bad and...

    Get long

I don't know why you put that much time and effort trying to prove that you shorted that stock. What's your goal here? Trying to convince dest? Why do you care that much? Does anybody care (except dest)?

    Get long

So it went like this? A guy sent an order to sell short 22 shares. He got filled. Did a printscreen of his phone. Modify the printscreen to hid some info, including the number of share. Post the result on a trading forum at 9:37. And his trade is showing on the tape at 9:38:33. I don't know...

Is my new internet connection to IBKR very slow?

I guess it depends what you are trading. For me, from Canada, trading Mkt orders at CME, I'm getting an average of 250 ms round-trip response time (from the time I sent the order from the time I receive the fill). 40 ms of that is the 'real' network latency. So, the simplistic path used should...

If you had to start over...

So, if you watched the market for the last few decades, it's a form of backtesting. Backtesting is simply to look at the past to see if the same can repeat in the future.

If you had to start over...

How did you find those patterns if you're not backtesting?

For 100$, why are you asking? If it lasts 4 years, that's about 2$/month more.
