Giving up on my dream of trading for a living

So the problem wasn't that you were not profitable, but that you relied 100% on your trading profit to make a living. Depending on the time you were spending on your trading activities, 25% CAGR is really good. You've never stated what was your criteria of success. For many traders, 25% CAGR...

    Hidden liquidity dried up

I don't know how Schwab's Walk Limit order type works, but not all US Option Exchanges support hidden order type. CBOE does but not MIAX. Not sure if this has something to do with your situation.

Giving up on my dream of trading for a living

From my own personal experience of automated trading: Maintaining: When your system has been well thought and developed, there isn't so much maintenance required. Improving: Well, manual or automated, don't you want to improve all the time? Solving new issues: Same as 'maintaining', but once in...

Giving up on my dream of trading for a living

I don't want to answer for hilmy, but usually this is poor or nonexistent risk management. Risk management is as important as picking the right entries/exits. But most of wannabe traders want to get rich fast and they risk too much until they blow out. With the same system/model, the...

Why are bearish markets bad if there are future contracts?

Using Stops has nothing to do with evaluating the risk. Using Stops is a way to manage the risk. It's easy to understand that the most you can lose going long is your initial invested capital. Now tell me what is the most you can lose if you go short? Don't answer this. And the infinity shit is...

    Tape scoring exercise

I don't 'read tape'. This video has no content whatsoever. In short, this video says: "read the tape when it's the right time". It's a bit like saying "buy low, sell high". To know more, you have to buy one of their 'package'.

Who Thinks Swing Trading is Dangerous?

I think he was referring to leverage. If you trade 10 ES contracts with a 30k$ account you would have lost 100% of you account - OUCH. With a 200k$ account that would have been a 15% loss - NOT THAT BAD.
