    Daniels trading broker

Talk with Scott Hoffman- he is a senior broker at Daniels that I have been working with re opening an account. He is very helpful, and has been in the business for about 23 years. He has set me up with an Open Ecry demo account, and walked me through the platform and trading futures in general...

    Pictures of your trading stations

I set up the triplehead just as it is marked on the unit. monitors 1-2-3 from left to right on the triplehead match up monitors 1-2-3 left to right, as they are in front of me. Also, when you maximize an app on the triplehead it does not "invade" its neighbor, it stays within its own screen...

Running a basic Pentium dual core desktop to swing trade stocks and futures- 3 Acer 20" monitors. The graphics card is a basic one, but I added a Matrox Triplehead2go- really easy set up and no problems whatsoever. The speakers are Harman Kardon Sound Sticks w/ sub.

    Best wireless internet

I live in the Chicago area, so chose to go with Sprint, since I can get 4G (noticeably faster than 3G) and it is unlimited. Works well downtown, although I ethernet the laptop at home. Sprint's 3G works well on the train, too. 4G can get spotty during the 35 mile ride home. Kevin

The whole buy because everybody hates it argument.

Pathus, Ask yourself- am I an investor or a trader? What timeframe are you holding for? It is true that valuations are being pounded to unheard of lows, but keep in mind that Buffett said that is was time to buy, and he has had his head handed to him the past few weeks. f you are a value...

I blew up , feels so bad

I was not a big indicator usr either, but her 3-10-16 macd (not her creation, btw) is helpful. I use it alomst exclusively now. Ino TV does have the material that I referred to- http://tv.ino.com/premium/title.html?movieid=97 Kevin

I blew up , feels so bad

Street Smarts is the better one- Taylor was not a good writer and did not use charts- he created a "book" to track price action. Raschke's is better. If you can find her old 1995 TAG presentation on her 5 basic trading patterns, there is a lot there- she applies a basic 3-10-15 macd momentum...

I blew up , feels so bad

Redneck, A book that helps explain what to look for, and more importantly, how to trade market manipulation is "The Taylor Trading Technique". It was written by George Douglass Taylor in 1950. He was a grain trader in the pits, and came to understand how to profit from short term price...

I can't verify this yet, but I e-mailed a pro trader friend of mine, and this is what I got as a reply- "old news. a thousand pages of discussion on the stock boards but every read of the new bill says it isnt in there. pelosi also dismissed it after it was presented.... Alan" Kevin

    Best Stock Newsletter

It kinda depends on your trading style- you really need to match a newsletter to how you trade. That said, I would look at Alan Farley's Daily Swing Trade (yes, I am a swing trader), but keep in mind that it's not suited to beginniners, as he doesn't baby sit you. You can get more info at the...

    Van Tharp Workshops

I attended Van's Peak performance 101 back in March of 2004 and am very glad that I did. You can read the complete description of the workshop on his site. Keep in mind that although it is a hands on session, and is very good, it covers only a part of Van's PP 101 home study course. Many...

    NLP...care to share?

Dantheman, Thanks for the comments. I would tend to agree that Van's earlier work was based on futures traders and trend following, and might not have as much relevance to day traders, and other shorter term styles. I have noted that recently, Van has been focused more on day traders, as...

    NLP...care to share?

Steve, Check out Van Tharp's site- iitm.com. Much of his background is in NLP applied to trading. Some folks may say he is full of BS, but that is ok. Everyone's entiltled to their opinion. His Peak Performance home study course is good, as is the workshop. I have also used Tony Robbins...

Classic Geometric Patterns and Narrow Range Setups

Looking at buying AMMD- nice NR7 ID, forming a small pennant. I'm curious- is anyone applying indicators or other tools to the NR price patterns, or just looking at price and volume? I'm trying to find some ways of selecting the best of the best. LBR applied historical volitility to the...
