    Spreads versus Butterfly

The mishmash of put options and owning stock with regards to the stock at hand is the same as owning a call option. This makes zero sense to me how stock plus a long put = a call but it checks out...this is the pnl of my stock position and a 16 put.

Yes I see now...and on the down side do the opposite...buy call flies for a credit...but the risk is substantially higher.

    Spreads versus Butterfly

The ratio spread was going to be 16/22 or something (Stock repair strategy). OK so modality... I should have taken a credit on the put fly, instead of a debit on the call fly. Yesterday I could have picked up a 14/16/16.5 put fly for a .33 credit, and today it would be worth .20 so I have...

    Spreads versus Butterfly

Well I WANTED to do a call ratio spread, so it would have maxed out at $702 long delta (.499), but my banks fees are ridiculous, so I went with the fly on IBKR So you collected premium on the fly not a debit...

    Spreads versus Butterfly

It looks like I was off by a couple days...should have done a 17/18/19. Anyway I'd rather just take premium and be done with the trade. :) I think if I have over 100k then it drops to .15...so there's that.

I know its a total racket. If I waited to tomorrow it could have cost me -$160 lol. This is why I only sell options typically...buying options is a fools errand.

    Spreads versus Butterfly

10/20/10 I think I'll sell a Aug30 20 call tomorrow...IBKR prices wiped but my spreadsheet estimates at 103% IV that it would be worth about .47*1500=$705. My break even would go down to 19.26 from 19.75 and I would get out of MARA and be able to move everything over to IBKR.

What are the prices of each leg? How did you get .15?? You broke my pnl chart I think because its showing an arb or something where if price continues up your min loss is a $152 gain. However if it drops to 14 you lose $1348.

Nice! But I don't think its going to go your way by exp...might have to roll it out.

    Spreads versus Butterfly

That's what happens when price goes up on a put fly...premium goes down. :) I am in the butter zone right now with my 16/17/18...if it holds this price range I go from $134 to $680 pnl. Wait...according to my sheet the 14/16/16.5 was cheaper yesterday than today? This would mean price is...

Trading the Cup & Handle Pattern

If you understood Elliott wave then you would understand that its not a point of view...its like watching a movie trailer instead of seeing the entire movie...granted after some movie trailers there is really no need to see the movie anymore as they give out so much plot, but I digress. :)

Trading the Cup & Handle Pattern

"The first is that it can take some time for the pattern to fully form, which can lead to late decisions. While one month to one year is the typical timeframe for a cup and handle to form, it can also happen quite quickly or take several years to establish itself, making it ambiguous in some...
