How to trade a small account

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. I have a small account and I am doing very well. But the reason is this: I trade very few positions relative to the big boys. I can get in one, two or three positions that are high probability. I am sure the big johnsons have to fan out into dozens...

    Military Industrial Complex

Great link describing the extent of US military spending: http://seekingalpha.com/article/90742-the-economic-cost-of-the-military-industrial-complex?source=headline1 It would be difficult to past the whole link in here but consider this: --We are stationed in 147 countries. That's 70%...

The Darkest Storm is About to Descend - You Can't Imagine the Carnage

Kind of makes sense. A lot of the foreign real estate mutual funds/ETF's invest heavily in the UK and Australia. I'm sure that didn't help the run up...

The Darkest Storm is About to Descend - You Can't Imagine the Carnage

It's not going to stop any time soon. The UK is heading down and the Alt A stuff hasn't hit the books of the banks yet. Fortunately, we have the American taxpayer to bail out all the banks that will fail. (** Yes, that was sarcasm. **) Btw, it's ironic that the source is from the UK...

Doing virutal or actual trading could damage human brains?

One thing I enjoy about you Jack: you really enjoy learning and trying to apply it to every area of your life. That's a great example: there's a lot of people 75 (or even 35) out there who have rolled up the tent and given up on life...

    Sovereign Funds buying REO's.

Japan's real estate bubble, believe it or not, was much more exagerrated than ours. Ours is a bubble - there's was more like a muchroom cloud...

U.S. Banks Toughen Lending Standards for Consumers, Businesses, Fed Says

Not really: they're just hanging on for dear life. Remember that the federales say there's 150 banks on the verge of collapse but an independent analysis says more like 750 which is half of the banks of the SnL crisis.

Funds are getting out of commodities, currencies; They're getting into stocks again?

Yes, the link pointed that out as well. Unfortunately, there is still more pain to go imo and so a Decade is probably just a nice round number...

Funds are getting out of commodities, currencies; They're getting into stocks again?

Btw, if you do a little research you'll find certain US sectors that have been getting some cash. There is one thing that will pull some money into the stock market temporarily: falling oil prices. If the oil bubble bursts, stocks will benefit at least in the short term.

Funds are getting out of commodities, currencies; They're getting into stocks again?

There are two theories: 1. We are simply in the middle of a standard economic cycle. Financials are starting to power up, technology is just beginning the same and we're on the road to recovery. There is actually some evidence for this based on standard market cycle analysis. 2. We are...

Doing virutal or actual trading could damage human brains?

Hadn't read about this so thx for the subject guys: http://www.news-medical.net/?id=37488 Very interesting. Of course, the only thing that I would add is that it's most important to avoid a stroke in the first place! Most of us have decent grey/white matter: we just need to protect...

The Darkest Storm is About to Descend - You Can't Imagine the Carnage

The Fed is irrelevant at this point: lowering interest rates have done nothing to improve credit conditions and inflation is still creeping up. Nor can they really raise interest rates on an economy that may be headed into an inflation. Btw, the tax refunds are already spent and everything...

Sell off Stock, forget the market?

I would add that commodities (and infrastructure) is still a great long term bet. Remember: if you're reading about a sector in the financial press - it's too late. The market has already had a run up and will very likely go down in the short term. But, again, if you're looking twenty...

Sell off Stock, forget the market?

U need to read this to understand that we may have a long ways to go! http://www.hussmanfunds.com/wmc/wmc080805.htm The problem is that the big boys believe a global downturn is coming (or already here) and will take the life out of commodities which is the lifeblood we're talking about...

Very sorry to hear about the cancer. I hope you beat it and get another few decades to test out some of your theories... And I'm not sure how you did four majors: one kept me plenty busy!!

Inflation in U.S. Highest Since 1981; Fed Not Expected to Raise Rates

Similar story: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080804/economy.html The overall economy, as measured by the gross domestic product, grew at a 1.9 percent rate in the April-June quarter, more than double the 0.9 percent increase in the January-March quarter. Economists believe the $168 billion...

Doing virutal or actual trading could damage human brains?

You know, this a common theme for you: trying to intermarry and intermingle different disciplines. It's almost like you're trying to find a Theory of Everything for Life and Trading. But I'm not sure that's really possible?

Doing virutal or actual trading could damage human brains?

Makes sense: a blog is one way, i.e. unidirectional. But it sounds like you've got a few followers. Why not make a blog and put down some of your thoughts? The reason I say that is that right now if someone wants to find out what you think, they have to hack and slash through a thousand...

The Darkest Storm is About to Descend - You Can't Imagine the Carnage

Btw, the GDP number was probably on the low side: our growth was likely well above the 1.9% number reported: You really need to subtract out inventories as this link points out: http://seekingalpha.com/article/88365-gdp-data-stronger-than-financial-headlines-suggest "Today’s GDP...
