    Roll Yield Strategy

Does anyone regularly practice the capture of roll yield on futures/commodities? Perhaps this thread can be used to "brain storm" and expand upon strategies that effiectively capture roll yield with minimum risk to an adverse price movement. Any thoughts or ideas on capturing roll yield with...

Risk in holding conversions/reversals to expiration?

I come across many conversion & reversal opportunities; however, the problem (as Don stated) is that there are merely pennies available. When you calculate the cost of the trade (i.e. portfolio margin rate + commissions) for the sheer volume needed to make the trade worthwhile, then the pennies...

Am I missing something? Magnifying dividend payment on margin. Safe and profitable?

Has anyone experienced long term success with collars to hedge against a "blow-up"? However, since the dividend is priced into the options, with a much more expensive put than call option, then the cost of the collar would exceed the dividend payout... any insights... Walter

well, all puts are turning into smoke today

Does anyone know why the Put premiums have typically been more expense than their Call counterparts over the last couple of years? Is it related to the interest rate calculation in the Black Scholes? thanks, Walt

    Collar Adjustments

thanks for your replies guys... I don't mean a conversion trade in establishing the collar, but instead a circumstance as follows: If a stock is trading at $50, then the long put would be at $47.50 and the short call would be at $52.50. Effectively, the classic collar scenario is what I...

    Collar Adjustments

Although the synthetic equivalent of a collar is a bull call spread, I have a question concerning the adjustment of collars, as recommended by some "experts", such as Optionetics... Many contend that the key to success when trading collars, is the ability to adjust the option positions when...
