What are the best prop firms in NYC

Uh oh, omcate. You best watch out. These cats got those super high priced lawyers on retainer. They don't care about flexing their legal muscles just to ruin your life and make an example out of you, and that's IF YOU'RE LUCKY. One trader left there on bad terms and gave out confidential...

    talk to self.

Just say that you are talking to the MMs/Specialist. Or better yet, find another trader that "talks to himself" and start trading together. Then it'll look like you're having a conversation (like pariing up 2 schizos on the street).

Any advice for a beginner short-term trader?

Tough market, but you are starting off with enough sense to swing trade (not daytrade). This will give you a much better chance these days, and as you said will allow you to go to school while trading small and learning.

What are the best prop firms in NYC

As good as those rates are, they get you on the desk fees and the terrible management and payout. I had a friend there, and he said that when they stood around the water cooler and talked, the management would yell at them to go back to their desks and churn for the firm. My friend left and is...

What are the best prop firms in NYC

Exactly, cause EVERY OTHER FIRM is requiring money down, and First NY is more institutional trading.

What are the best prop firms in NYC

First NY is more an institutional trading place. AB Watley is not a good place if you actually want to learn to trade and have a chance at making good money. Generic is fair. depending on the office you go too. Every firm has its advantages and its down sides however.

Do you talk to your computer when you trade?

Yah right. I've seen top traders that never say a word (hell, they hardly talk to other people), and I've seen top traders that scream at the top of their lungs all day long.

Do you talk to your computer when you trade?

Women make good traders because they are expressive? Who says women are better traders than men? There are good and bad women traders, and plenty of them are bad.

am i precise by calling it a patriotic rally?

Ummm, all of the above (so whatever happens, I'll claim I was right :) )

am i precise by calling it a patriotic rally?

    Probably viruses. :)

am i precise by calling it a patriotic rally?

I agree with the people who say it is a rally based on a relief from uncertaintly, regardless of the outcome.

Digging it up? I've had that e-mailed to me about 20 times in the last 2 mos

How much do you REALLY make trading?

If consistency is what is important, wouldn't it be better to ask people how they are doing relative to how they've done previously? After all, if someone says he makes $20g a month, but made $40g a month last year (or say $5g vs $10g or -$1g per month vs $5g last year) then without knowing how...

How much do you REALLY make trading?

How is this such an important topic, and how much of a discussion will we have if some of the people most involved in this "discussion" are lying about matters related to the very topic of discussion?

How much do you REALLY make trading?

Prop is good for leverage, but props trade with higher commissions as well.

As long as I'm one of these "one or two people" my good pal! :)

Wow, would you do the same for me my good pal Nitro? :)

How much do you REALLY make trading?

Okwon, have you read through all the posts, or just a sample few? Even though a CONSISTENT $15g a week scalping stocks in 2003 IS very unusual even at the prop firms, this guy is saying that he does it with ONE MONITOR, on 3 HRS SLEEP, from HOME with cable modem, with $100,000 (ie limited...

How much do you REALLY make trading?

I never bet or offered a bet on this matter. However, if betting on this matter were as simple as betting on a sports game, I would do it in a heartbeat. Since, however, there is no way to ensure that the bet is paid (eschrow act that who would have access to?), and it would be hard to ensure...
