IB TWS API - how soon is the latest price bar available?

So let's say the time is 3:30PM and you call reqHistoricalData() to request all 5 minute bars between 3:15 and 3:30. Will the return values include the price bar closing at 3:30? If not, when's the earliest time the latest price bar become available? Basically, I'd like to take action as...

HOLY BAILOUT - Fed Reserve Backstopping $75 Trillion Of Bank Of America's Derivatives

Doesn't this mean that it's impossible for BAC to go under? Every time BAC needs to face the consequences of their bad decisions, the government bails out them and their billionaire shareholders.

Why some puts with lower strike have higher premiums than higher strike?

Are you saying stock options can have both cash and stocks as underlying assets? I thought only index options are cash-based? Also, from the option chain, how'd figure that the options have a cash component and its exact amount? Thanks.

No, I'm talking about the bid and ask of puts with strike price 12 or less.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Could you elaborate more on the cash component?

Why some puts with lower strike have higher premiums than higher strike?

Notice in the attached option chain how some deep out-of-money puts have much higher premiums than those with higher strike. Can you explain why?

I read somewhere that market makers make profits by selling liquidity. What's that mean? Also, is it a low risk low return strategy?

    Long WFC?

Any one know How big is WFC's exposure to Europe? I'm told BAC is in serious trouble, so how does WFC compare to it overall? I'm thinking to go long WFC at around $19, if it ever drops that low and planning to hold it for about 3 months. Would it be a good buy? Thanks.

option strategy for a stock pair with negative correlation?

Thanks, I've done a quick backtest, but it appears that its profit/loss distribution isn't any more different than conventional strategies(vertical spread, butterfly, etc) using just one of the stocks. Maybe it's because of option premiums?

option strategy for a stock pair with negative correlation?

Suppose you have stock X and Y that have a negative correlation so that when X rises, Y drops and vice-versa. Moreover, the net percentage move between them is less than 2% within a given period of time. For example, if X drops 4%, Y will rise no more than 6%. If X rises 5%, Y will drop at least...

    Say goodbye to Goldman Sachs

I don't own GS, but don't understand the sell-off. There's this Greece thing, but it's been going on like for two years and you'd think the market has already priced it in and GS had a plenty of time to deal with it. Didn't GS have record profits about a year ago? Do you guys think GS...

    What's the word for this?

Hey all, What do you call this activity- opening a postion and then closing it. I always thought this is called a round trip trade, but investorwords.com says a round trip trade is the act of buying and selling securities over a short period of time. So, what'd be the correct term for...

    Optimization

It appears that the way NinjaTrader does optimization is simply running multiple backtests with a range of values for each parameter in a brute force way. Is this correct? Then, is optimization just running a series of backtests and picking parameter values from the backtest with the best...

Do you have to be a good stock trader to succeed in options trading?

Have you seen anyone trading options for a living that never made money trading stocks? Conversely, are successful options traders usually good at trading stocks? I'm largely interested in writing options on stocks. If I wasn't successful trading stocks, should I not move on to stock options?
