What TA tool can detect random walk data?

Evidently, the question in the opening post is a subject of a lot of modern academic research. See, for example NONPARAMETRIC STATISTICAL TESTS FOR THE RANDOM WALK IN STOCK PRICES or a longer list from google.

Any good free non-Java forex charts?

It's NinjaTrader, an independent charting (and trading) platform... you need to see if your broker is supported on the platform web-site. Another good free platform is QuoteTracker

I, crgarcia, posted profitable real-time trades. And I challenge frequent traders!

It's because it's difficult to isolate a single factor in one's development as a trader. While a new trader may benefit from following someone else's real-time trades a whole lot, they probably also look at an occasional chart posted in one of the journals.. and read books. Fully agree here...

    suggestion on new pc

Dell recently had serious quality problems on a large scale. So, I would hesitate to buy from them at this time. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/29/technology/29dell.html One of the cheapest ways to hook up 3 monitors to a computer is 2x "office" graphics cards supporting 2 monitors each...

If you are thinking about getting a computer...

They also opted for an integrated memory controller. I guess the engeneers figured that very few people would want to make use of such graphics controller. Then why make everyone else pay for it?

How to add broker on list?

I guess it's the site staff who have to add a new broker. Try one of the Contact Us options.

Why do I have Maintance Margin of 63.00?

You may have more than one currency in your account... or the currency in the account is different from the currency in which account is valued.

CFTC Weighs Crack-Down on High-Frequency Trades

It's because they need something that has legal strength of a written document. Fax printouts provide this quality while e-mails are not accepted as a documentary proof of a transaction with substantial monetary value. "Secure E-mail" like that built into bloomberg or reuters terminal could...

Interactive Brokers vs. Professional Prop firm platforms

If you are interested in specialised futures platform, give a try to ButtonTrader - it works exclusively with IB and has a free trial. In terms of usability it's close to X-Trader for 1/10th of the cost.

Why Are Popular Market Gurus Wrong?

Do you have any explantion for this phenomenon? Is it the fact they have been choosing loosing trades for some time that makes them choose similar (i.e. loosing) trades again? Would you list a few common "bad" habbits? It may become a valuable list of "things to avoid" for new traders.

How to learn to take profit?

That's what I assumed when I read the original post... Because I find it uncomfortable when I don't have a single entry signal for a couple of days in a row. Maybe I should be more flexible.

How to learn to take profit?

First, thanks to 1765hillwood and otcstockfund who suggested scaling out. So far I have felt my size didn't warrant the necessity to scale out but it is worth checking if this improves the performance. As people say, asking the right question is half of the solution. And this is the right...

How to learn to take profit?

I recently found out that the most common trading mistake I am making is not taking profits. Maybe it's summer-time effect... but I see more often than not that the price hits my entry price, often a few times, before heading for my target. Had I taken profit at the nearest resistance...

Buffett And Gates Encourage Billionaires To Donate At Least Half of Their Fortunes

Not all of which is totally selfless. Bill Gates is a strong advocate of the "Climate Change" idea. At the same time he has been an investor in biofuels: he owns about 50% (or a few billion worth) of a large ethanol factory. A mandatory propotion of "biofuel" is added to petrol in the US...

Input on New Network with DSL

I understand you connect to the internet via the phone line, not a dedicated cable. Then you need ADSL modem. Double-check that your "modem" actually says "modem" on the box. A device with a "WAN" connector is usually a router which you are supposed to plug into a separate modem, it doesn't...

    If you were recruiting traders...

My impression is the OP isn't a trader and doesn't intend to be one. He just happened to have a little money, have heard prop shops have potenatial to be hugely profitable and is looking to set up a prop shop. If the above is a good guess, what you need is a partner whose credentials as a...

Buffett And Gates Encourage Billionaires To Donate At Least Half of Their Fortunes

One may become wealthy due to extreme talent or luck but staying wealthy requires certain psycholocal profile. Forget for a moment that many children are taught they don't deserve success. Forget that it's common to think that wealthy people are greedy, ruthles or otherwise "bad" in some way (we...

Input on New Network with DSL

You are welcome! If you haven't got the router working yet, you probably need to contact the internet provider and ask them what settings they require. Performance is pretty much driven by the provider (and the length and quality of the cable). The modem is set up just to ensure compatibility...

Input on New Network with DSL

    1) Connect everything vai cables and don't use WiFi. The latter always has occasional slowdowns due to interference, computers re-establishing connection etc. 2) Get right cables. If you use gigabit ethernet, get CAT5E or, better, CAT6. Simple CAT5 won't do 3) Check with your internet provider...

    Software development by Govt

For the same reason the government isn't involved in every other sphere covered by private enterprises. The government doesn't have any secrets of cost-efficiency. So, such services by the government will necessarily be more expensive than from the private sector. So, what you ask is why...
