It's a new day and and age... I really believe the advances in tech have had a phenomenally democratizing effect on the world in countless way.

Fair enough, unfortunately I never worked the front-office and so have nothing to say beyond that you'll have to consider the sales and marketing of you and your strategy.

I don't feel like you're humblebragging, just need some feedback so... Is it real money? Then I think you have your answer... wall street loves it because they're paying you religiously. But it seems to be all hypothetical. And, that's another story. Then, esp., there's going to be some level...

No need to be defensive. I didn't accuse you of anything, just commenting on possibilities. How am I supposed to know what you did, or didn't, do?

So, what happened? Did it just evolve into this? Or maybe the whole site has just degraded into a chat? Lol I'm guessing you mean some kind of "legit non-web2 chat" via java or special app or something?

Yeah, those years could have had small losses I suppose. Or, could be a over-fitted backtest. Over-fitting will show huge numbers. It's just one of many metrics and if your account isn't exceptionally large I don't think 2.5 is unreasonable. Of course the best metric is with a decent sized...

IMHO the distinction between retail/institutional has been trivialized over the years. These days info and tech flow very freely and now it's mostly a matter of whether you're taking fees and dealing with regulations or not. OTOH, maybe you're right and it's a chicken/egg type issue. But, in...

I think there are always tradeoffs. The more money you manage, the harder it becomes to find good investments and so size plays a role. This is just due to the law of large numbers. A high sharpe for a long time is most difficult... probably why you didn't find many funds with that kind of...

Go easy bro... take the good advice people offered and stick to the plan. We're all just talking some smack to one degree or another. Filter the good from the bad and you'll do great. Don't let it get to you.

This is the most hilarious excuse I've heard too... I didn't set my alarm. Traders computers are synced within millisecs and poor FJ didn't set his Timex :(

Ouch, that doesn't sound like a cool, calm and level-headed reply. I hope you don't talk to your subcontractors like that. And, in fact, I gave a rosy compliment: (T.N.T()--✹

Try not to blow your load prematurely. Have you coded this up so it can be fully automated? Then collected the minimum of a few 100 samples and done some statistical analysis on the results? Then, also, done similar experiments with a real money trading account? This is what it's going to take...

I might actually just prefer a limit game tbh, but no-limit seems to be what people love. Whenever I play in a dealers choice I like to call 5-card progressive jacks or better and see what happens. I'm a little bit of a nut though... I know the vol sucks and so the sadist/masochist in me wants...

Like super-tourney mode... in 10 tables at a time. IDK, I prefer a cozy home game; ~5 handed no-limit quarter/fifty¢. You know, chilling out and having some fun.
