    "You've Insulted 10's millions workers"

Maxine Waters is a neanderthal of the highest (make that "lowest") order. When I hear these bumpkins from Congress discussing matters they couldn't possibly comprehend, it reminds me of a great Winston Churchill quote... "The greatest argument against democracy, is a 5 minute conversation w/...

    VIX and VXN...

notable rise yesterday and today off of recent lows (in the VIX anyway). Net short on swings -- but still fairly well hedged. Sure would like to shed the "long hedges" and see a tailspin. Not worth fighting it though. I expect a pretty choppy session while AG is speaking this morning.

    Net China stocks goes bust...

about to be taught a painful lesson about momentum, "PE", and short sales. Never, ever, ever short something because you think it's "run up too much." Jesse L is rolling over in his grave:( (just ask the genius who started the "EBAY short" thread several months ago:eek: ) The Chinese...

Can this market get any more pathetic

backpacking through Newark, NJ for years now! We have the route already planned! My wife and I will be starting out at the Arco refinery just off the Turnpike -- we'll start in the Crude Unit and make our way through the Catalytic Cracker and end up by the Sulfur Recovery Unit where we'll...

    Please help -- shorting techniques

    1. avoid stocks w/ a large percentage of float owned by institutions and insiders. 2. avoid stocks w/ a high percentage of float currently held short (squeezage can be very painful). 3. And above all: Learn about the "sausage-dog experience"... When you're short and being squeezed...

    Discipline - Continued

chewing tinfoil and shaving my head with a cheese-grater breeds discipline. I want to stress though, that this method may not work for everyone. ... in addition to being good for shaving my head -- I also use the cheese-grater for some of the hard (AND "FINE") cheeses that I supply to Mr...

    Arbitrage the QQQ and NQ

to be swinging a pretty big line to effectively arb this spread. I kicked this idea around several years ago -- but it's just like the big players arbing the spoo vs cash. Unless you're trading multi-millions and you have sophisticated computer execution -- it's 100% wasted time. dog:(

    Window Dressing...

is a very real phenomenon. That's why people look for it. But of course, some prefer to follow astrological cycles and other esoteric indicators -- but hey, whatever works!

    Window Dressing...

good call -- I thought that since this year had a relatively low number of Russell additions (288) compared with a 10 yr ave of 495 -- that the effect would be largely muted. In addition, since the market has been on such a tear this year, I expected the lagging funds to scramble a bit to add...

    Dow Monthly Shooting Star?

use a yearly chart! Yeah, looks like she started forming a rising wedge back in '46 -- I'm expecting another breakout in 2041 (but then I want to see it pull back to the pivot-point again to rule out any "bogus signals!"). :D

    Window Dressing...

So naive... :p Fund Managers are notorious for playing catch-up -- hence the term "window dressing!"

    Window Dressing...

How bout that! The window dressing effect was completely nonexistent today. I'm a little surprised. Apparently fund managers were more interested in locking in a little profit towards the end of the quarter as opposed to dressing up their portfolios. I rarely try to buck the trend -- but I...
