and now a 1-minute chart :D almost a risk-free trade (5 pip stop now). i dont mind getting the stop hit, so .. let's see. next barrier 103.73 (which happens to conincide exactly with daily R1 level)

i dont know .. buying yen feels very uncomfy looking at price action. actually i took a small long here with a few pips stop ..

thanks =) likewise. but still need it to go further to be able to trail stops.. so risk still there (i'm extremely leveraging again so need to sit tight) we've got some medium event risk at 4:30 GMT .. industrial production i think we could see some additional minor economic boost in japan...

i'd rather place an entry order short yen at your suggested stoploss. there sure must be a lot of stops around there that, once hit, may catapult the price higher (maybe, i dunno of course). i'm in buy-the-dip mode in usd/jpy all the way

Visual Studio c++ API sample code

that i don't know :) but there is a way if you want to know inside your DLL info about current orders etc. just send that information to the DLL by doing it this way: in MT4: myfunctionfromdll_senddataA(a); myfunctionfromdll_senddataB(b); ... myfunctionfromdll_processdata(); buyorsell...

Visual Studio c++ API sample code

hmmm i thought that was rather simple. just like you want i think. call the DLL's function from MT4 to send or receive data. the MT4 script would look something like this (pseudocode): buyorsell = myfunctionfromdll(some_intdata, somemore_intdata, currentask, currentbid, anythingelse)...

Visual Studio c++ API sample code

why not make a DLL in your favourite programming language and connect it via whatever API the broker offers you? i did that in MT4 once. there is sample code too.

    2014 Predictions for Bitcoin

i have no idea. but if there's a setup, i'd trade it.

    Yen going forward

i am back in the market. i see breakouts on hourly charts in USD/JPY, GBP/JPY and EUR/JPY. i'm involved in all of them to diversify risk. skipping commodity block vs yen though... don't feel it

    Yen going forward

yea and that wedge would have been the 3rd time i should have added, just like the original plan: add on breakouts of such technical patterns. the heat was: an overly leveraged position (more than 1:100, but the risk was already removed, and i have a small account so need to "gamble" a bit...

    Yen going forward

i couldn't stand the heat. took 1/4 off at 103.10, the rest at 102.25. there was good reasoning to do that, at least for a partial cover. it was a 1:6 RRR too. but i should have kept half open. now i have to watch it go up and probably never allow me to get back in at a good price. trading is...

    Yen going forward

i don't think FED taper speculation had much influence in the USD/JPY run. overall, compared to EUR, GBP, AUD, JPY, .. USD did not strengthen very much recently. JPY weakness looks like the main theme based on what's going on in japan. the market may be vary of expecting a taper considering...

    Yen going forward

i'm riding that jpy wave too, and pretty aggressively. got long on the break of 100 (usd/jpy). i doubled up during the end of that hourly bull flag on 27th, and perhaps i could reasonably double up even once more as we head into higher highs as my technical analysis suggests. that would like add...

    Not sure what I've built.......

By slippage I mean the difference between the expected price of a trade, and the price the trade actually executes at. The historical data is a topic I have not yet spent much time on. I use the tickdata available at http://ratedata.gaincapital.com/. Only EURUSD bid/ask for now. After...

    Not sure what I've built.......

Interesting. I'm working on a similar project for over 2 years next to my day job. I only use C/C++. The overal output of the system consists of buy/sell signals as well. I do not have any results that I feel comfortable to write here, except for the many concepts that proved to be useful or not...
