In one case the market completed the sequences, in another did not.

Dangerous generalization, - note red point 1 down, around 1330-35 in the attached, signal for change in blue up traverse.

    Iterative Refinement

The working hypothesis for me now is that I am dealing with 4 distinct separate sets of patterns: (1) PA which develops on single bar, (2) PA which develops over the course of multiple bars, which may include acceleration of Gaussian slope, (3) PV which develops after sequence completion as a...

Unfortunately, I can't really add anything to that other than "maybe."

Not likely, IMO PA can develop over the course of multiple bars just as easily as one bar, provided the volume difference is significant enough to place the volume bars in different zones delienated by pace lines. But, since I don't have a definition of Pace Acceleration, I can't really defend...

    Iterative Refinement

1530 is a PA. After PA one expects a step down in pace and resumption of increase of dominant volume. So, IMO, since the mini-sequence which started with 1530 PA is not over, one can't be looking for a signal for change.

Increasing volume on the black 1305 bar is what prevents 1310 being point 3 down. And since I see no reason not to consider 1225 as point 2 down, IBV on 1305 bar may indicate that a faster fractal up traverse is underway, with p2 of the ff up traverse being 1305 bar. EDIT: Anybody who is...

    Iterative Refinement

That's the part that is not clear to me. A 'Pre-Flight' Check represents nothing more than Monitoring - except in this case - it occurs prior to the opening bar. In other words, the trader contantly does a 'Pre-Flight' Check for bars which in the now sit somewhere in the near future. Nothing is...

    Iterative Refinement

Personally, I was ready to label 1350 bar as Point 1 up and signal for change in down traverse. The only thing that stopped me from doing that is significant decrease in overall pace beginning with 1230. Spydertrader mentioned that "during periods of depressed pace the market often provides...

    Iterative Refinement

Let's say, for example, the market ended today between p2 and p3 in the sequence. So tomorrow, either: (a) it will definitely pick up where it has left in the sequence today - it will complete the down traverse and provide signal for change, or, (b) during the 'sync' we will have to...

Well, just how much effort do you put into analyzing the traffic light: green, red, yellow (short, long, hold/flat) if you know how to drive the car ?:)

For a beginner, who makes decisions at the end of bar, IMO it makes no difference whether a static or dynamic chart is practiced on. But a real time monitoring is obviously a must for next step. So, since people often do things without knowing it - people are actually know much more then they...

I have been harboring a belief that quite possibly the only way to learn the methodology is by doing the drills (learning to monitor). This belief of mine has been growing stronger and stronger after I was able to achieve some notable progress following the regimen of unbiased annotation...

Spydertrader, would you be so kind to clarify two of your comments, which I have trouble understanding. The first one is (marked with red): http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2181422#post2181422 The 2nd one is (also marked with red)...
