    Is day trading worth it?

Statistically, most action happens around the first couple hours after opening (different time for different markets) and maybe the last hour too. I strongly believe many traders could avoid significant amount of their losses by just NOT trading the "wrong" time of the day. As one good trader...

    Is day trading worth it?

Many day traders don't spent all their days in front of screen at all. Proper understanding of daily market cycles is the key.

    Sociopathy and trading

Many successful people are eccentric. Probably correlated with thinking outside of the box, which of course can be considered a form of antisocial behavior depending on circumstances.

    Sociopathy and trading

Exactly. Speaking of "no emotions" or rather a perfect control of emotions, it's people with high EQ who are likely to be good traders, not sociopaths. Sociopaths on the other hand may succeed in certain professions not because they have no emotions, but because they don't care of others...

    Is day trading worth it?

In my experience it's more psychological. Just knowing a trade may happen any hour doesn't let one fully relax as opposed to say, long-term investment when you care less even about various flash crashes etc. From another viewpoint, if there are enough trades every day, there's no biggie to miss...

    Is day trading worth it?

Agree about schedule. But only in case of swing/position trading with minimal analysis period of 1 day or more to enter orders on the opening/close and forget at least until the next day. The best case is long-term investment of course, but returns are usually much lower than more frequent...

Nope. I think in dollars only. Ruble is a derivative of crude oil and not a currency. :D

    Is day trading worth it?

Even if profitable it depends on factors, some of which may lay beyond the purely economical reasons. Every profession, trading included is not suitable for everyone. I can say there were times when I was pretty tired of trading. There were also times when it was a pure pleasure, so much a...

    Is day trading worth it?

Trade for myself and OPM. Full time or not, it depends, cause indeed I didn't trade for more than 4-5 hours in a row for more than a year already. :)

    shraddha: trust , faith

IMO trust in a trading method is still a function of successfully applied sample size of trades, not something related to the heart. :) Success as a whole is a different story of course and here belief in future prosperity is useful even if it doesn't have logical foundation right away.

Same as why scientists read published materials (which by itself don't contain ready recipes for new breakthroughs and Nobel prizes either :D ).

Nothing wrong with getting rich trading hard, but will money destroy your mind.

I would call it not evil, but rather a deviation, same as say unrestrained passion to food, alcohol, whatever. Addictions lead to harm (evil) to the addict and people around him/her. In that sense yes, pathological love of money is evil. But wish to possess more energy in order to be able...

Nothing wrong with getting rich trading hard, but will money destroy your mind.

No, of course not! Sorry for confusion. I am saying that some people deliberately refuse or are limited by the law to possess certain forms of power (handguns for example), because they suffer from disorders which may cause misuse of the power. Extreme cases of it are probably narcotic...
