    Crooks Hijack Online Brokerage Accounts

I think IB might as well runs on Linux with VMWare or the likes (they sure do with Parallels on Mac, not sure about Linux though -- haven't tried it).

Looking for a site that has sector information.

What kind of breakdown do you actually want? Dondinero's site recommendation (barchart) mainly discuss the technical breakdown of each industry. If you are only looking for a news for certain sector (for fundamentals that is), you can check Yahoo's Finance or seekingalpha.com

Is it true? That the smarter you are the worse the world looks?

Dissatisfaction isn't the same as unhappiness. It's dissatisfaction that leads the human race forward, not unhappiness. Prolonging unhappiness only brings you stress.

    Options Calculations

I think there's a strong criticism regarding Black-Scholes options model (mainly because they treat the price distribution as normal distribution while in the real world, it ain't like that). Care to try it with binomial theory?

Google to Buy FaceBook.com 2.6 Billion

I heard that YouTube is churning up millions of dollars only to cover their bandwith cost (no wonder there). I don't think Google's income from advertising on YouTube's site or any form of advertising such as Video ads are going to work (heck, there's a reason why we watch TV less and less)...

Google to Buy FaceBook.com 2.6 Billion

Geez, how about MySpace? Probably they didn't leave because the site is bought only by a puny Newscorp... I heard that Google is working things out with major labels and IP holders in form of advertising revenue sharing.

How far did you go net negative before you became net positive?

God this thread makes me nervous :D j/k Anyway, I'm currently on net negative of $3K from $20K startup capital (not big I know, but decent enough to keep me hanging -- not playing too much on leverage). It's not that I'm on net negative all the time, sometimes I got a net positive of $4k...

    IB or Thinkorswim?

Oops, I really forgot :P I'm mainly trading options with occasionally buying stocks (for rental income that is -- but rarely).

    IB or Thinkorswim?

Hello, I have a hard time to choose between Interactive Brokers and Thinkorswim. Can you guys give me some input about how these two broker spar against each other (in terms of commissions, trading terminal, etc)? I'm usually doing several trades (under 10) per week with around 2 weeks...

    Cantor Fitzgerald

Well yeah probably their former competitor do hand over some of the larger contracts to them out of pity. But still, their hard work is very admirable. Some people that went from everything to nothing is usually frustrated on how things are, and I don't think Cantor's survivor did that thing...

    How do you pick stocks?

Thanks! It has a better layout than Yahoo's and hence more "readable". Of course that's just my opinion.

    How do you pick stocks?

Yep, doing this ;) Yeah, this is actually what I'm doing for market timing. Usually I'm looking at the charts after I'm doing some research on fundamental analysis And that's what I can't figured it out! On a successful trading, I have a 'hunch' that it will succeed. Of course on the...

    How do you pick stocks?

I usually use Yahoo's stock screener or OPX's (since I'm an option trader). I usually pick the stock with high volatility (since beta is what drives the options price up -- generally speaking) and high trading volume. Got some good trades but also dozens of bad ones and I can't seem to...

    How do you pick stocks?

Hello, I'm fairly new here and curious about how you guys picked stocks. Here's what I do: I usually use the screener to scan a wide-arrange of stocks. Here's what I'm looking: volatility and volume. After I got the list of the desired stocks, I do some simple technical analysis on them...

(Rumor) Google to buy YouTube for 1.6 Billion

Hat's off? Not likely. Consider these points: 1. YouTube hasn't found a way to monetize its site. Sure videoads might be interesting, but there's a reason why we switch from regular TV show to internet, cables, and TiVo. 2. Clustered server technology that Google has might be a good...

    Using a stock advisory service.

I'm making 25%+ of my first trade and now it's haunting me back. It's quite hard to go back to that level and I ended up loosing half of my trade and only able to pull a break-even now. Just be careful of your successful trading.

    Literatures on Delta Neutral?

Spot on ;) I'm looking for a book that discuss this topic in-depth. I already knows the basic of the subject from Fontanills and McMillan books but I'd like to dig it deeper. Anyone?
