Amazon drops plans to add headquarters in New York City

C'mon, a guy claims he made millions in IL in one post, a ton of money there in another, and couldn't afford a house in Bay Area in yet another post. And he is an Elite Trader on top of that. My hat is off!

This is a LOT of computer for $600... looking for a new trading rig or upgrade?

New DC, that will do quite well for your application, if you max out the RAM (memory) and SSD options; choose no OS option on the pull down OS menu. TOS will benefit from extra RAM, especially, if you allocate more memory to it. SSD is ancient 3 GB/sec, but will do just fine.

This is a LOT of computer for $600... looking for a new trading rig or upgrade?

I have an old HP Z620 with 64GB RAM and E5-2670 that I bought for under $900 about 5 years ago, and it runs non-stop. The off-lease deals are cyclical and sometimes are sizeable, most times are not. Also, you have to research the models in advance, e.g. mine has a certain BIOS x Boot Block dates...

Norway's $1 Trillion Man Talks Brexit, China and Big Tech

Back in the good, old days of floor trading, those were always welcome on the trading floors, so traders could place bets on how long they would last. They would always come with their 'system', make 15 mil out of 1 quickly, just to lose it even quicker afterwards. Did he earn that trillion? Is...

London post-brexit as a financial center

Looks like a mirror of Versaille Treaty now imposed on UK. And given the sufficient numbers of invasive species everywhere, this theatre doesn't bode well for the whole Europe.

Hacked Printers. Fake Emails. Questionable Friends. Fahmi Quadir Was Up 24% Last Year, But It Came..

It's easy to hack a printer, or any connected hardware for that matter: your PC, keyboard, monitor, Bluetooth ear-piece, etc. Our ignorance of the matter doesn't prove it is impossible. The skills are out there and they are for hire rather inexpensively. Ever saw them burning monitors?

Huawei CFO arrested in Canada at behest of US

As an immigrant of more than 30 years I am in awe by American culture. One of the facets of it, a great one, is this "give a man a second chance". No other culture I lived in has this. This rule doesn't apply to all, despite of what Americans think. For example, if you give Russians yet another...

    Mac Pro build for trading

Running TS in a Windows on a VM on a Hackintosh is akin to a transvestite man doing a drag. My hat is off. I loved the Motorola-based Macs, those were truly first class hardware-wise. Nowadays, everybody is parroting 'server class hardware' while it is not. It used to be...
