    CCO.TO or CCJ (NYSE)

Uranium is priced in US dollars. I actually did a project last winter/spring for a finance class that I was taking at the time, did some statistical analysis, and found that Cameco's stock price had some negative correlation with the CND/USD exchange rates. Of course, it just so happens that...

    Why do Pivots have credibility?

In my opinion pivots are useful for the specific reason that they provide some potential guidelines regarding price action. This doesn't mean that equities, futures, etc. will automatically conform to the pivots, they are just another indicator to potentially use as a tool for decision making.

    RMBS short or long?

I've been watching RMBS with quite a bit of suprise the past few trading days, stock has basically been going vertical.

    Questrade for new Canadian Investor

My comment would be to check out all of the platforms (and costs) that Questrade has to offer, then compare them against other Canadian brokers. The lowest cost brokers that I am aware of in Canada are: Interactive Brokers, Questrade and Trade Freedom.

France and the EU - on the move!

I guess the "best" answer if one factors in quarterly compounding would be 2.8295374%, but it's late at night, and we're all friends here. :p

France and the EU - on the move!

2.8% annual growth isn't a terribly bad figure.

Dell has now officially launched their new 30" monitor...

    CEF's, ETF's or Fund's with double beta

I posted a few months back about forthcoming double beta bull and bear ETFs from Profunds, but I haven't heard anything about them since.

Morgan fires 4 after strip club visit

They talked about this on RobTV tonight, and the speculation was that this has something to do with a lawsuit a couple of years back re: "exclusionary practices" at Morgan Stanley. Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the background story beyond providing this possible explanation.

$11+ Thousand PROFIT 3Days on GOOG

Well, again, after reading your post, I would strongly suggest looking into strangles. Basically strangles are significantly cheaper than straddles because they are further out of the money, rather than a straddle, which is at the money (or close to it).

$11+ Thousand PROFIT 3Days on GOOG

Good point, I didn't notice the different dates for the "sell to close" transactions when I read his post.

    The Sharon Factor

It is interesting (and sad) that this has happened. Interesting because I was just reading the current issue of The Economist, and they talked about this exact issue, i.e. what would happen if Sharon were to suffer health-wise at this point in time.

$11+ Thousand PROFIT 3Days on GOOG

Congrats on the trade. I might suggest doing some research into strangles. I think it was the latest issue of Options Trader that had a very interesting article on risk/reward of straddles vs. strangles.

How cute, the spammer(s) is (are) talking to himself (each other).

Trading stock or options on the London exchange?

Reminds me of one of the Canadian brokerages, their app form asks for a "bank reference" as well. I'm not sure how things are in the US, but in Canada we have had some fairly stringent privacy legislation rolled out over the past few years. So even if I provided my bank's name on the app form, I...

    How is the Americanbulls?

I personally think that the site, while an interesting concept, is not a good one because it "cheats". For anyone not familiar with the site, it basically analyzes candlestick patterns, then issues either "buy confirmed, buy-if, hold, sell-if or sell confirmed" recommendations. The reason I...

Dividend payouts, how do they affect Futures Prices?

No problem, but I would like to see some further discussion/opinions regarding this.

    Best Performing Stock For 2006

Sorry, I'm going to break your rule, but I'm going to go on the record as saying that I feel TMTA will outperform during 2006. 2005 closing price was $1.13. P.S. I don't imagine that this pick will make me particularly respected here, but I feel that the company is well advanced in the...

Dividend payouts, how do they affect Futures Prices?

I can only comment on this in theory rather than in practice, but from a textbook perspective going ex-dividend should actually increase a futures price rather than decrease it, because you are subtracting the income. But the price of the underlying decreases, so hmmmmm..... I think the...

    Opinion on CFD ??

I've now seen two CFD firms pop up in Canada, but it looks like both have some fairly high barriers to entry. You either have to have a net worth of $1,000,000 plus, make $200,000 per year or be registered with the OSC (I haven't bothered to call either of them up to see which particular type of...
